In a recent interview with media Khushbeg Jattana, General Manager of Simaero India shared the company’s ambitious plans for India and South Asia. With the Indian aviation sector rapidly expanding, Simaero aims to meet the rising demand for highly skilled pilots through state-of-the-art infrastructure and strategic partnerships.
- Simaero India launched in mid-2023 and aims to establish a simulation training center near Delhi airport by Q4 2024.
- The center will feature eight full-flight simulators bays, starting with an A320 NEO and Boeing B737 NG full flight simulator’s, and later expanding to include the B737 MAX and ATR 72-600 within 24 months.
- Simaero plans to open satellite centers across India, with Kolkata being a top contender, alongside possible expansions in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and neighboring countries like Nepal.
- It wants to meet the demand for type ratings, starting off with conducting 100 type ratings per year on each type and plans to conduct around 1,500 type ratings annually once fully operational.
- Globally, Simaero operates training centers in France, South Africa, and China, with plans to expand its simulator capacity in India to 16 full-flight simulators in the next five to six years.

Taipei, Taiwan – One of the countries largest airline groups, EVA Airways Corp. has expanded its training capabilities with the acquisition of two new full-flight simulators (FFS) from CAE, a global leader in aviation training solutions. The new simulators, which will enhance pilot training, include models for the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787.
- The Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 FFS will be housed at EVA Air’s state-of-the-art Training Centre in Taipei.
- These new additions will operate alongside EVA Air’s existing fleet of CAE-manufactured FFS for Boeing 777, Airbus A330, and ATR 72-600 aircraft.
- EVA Air’s training facility also includes CAE’s A320 and Boeing 777 flight training devices (FTD) and a Boeing 787 integrated procedures trainer (IPT).

- “We thank EVA Air for the confidence they continue to place in CAE for state-of-the-art training equipment, and we look forward to seeing their A350 and B787 pilots training on these new FFS,” CAE said in a statement.

With an investment of FJ$160 million in new pilot training devices, the Academy is well-positioned to meet the growing needs of Fiji Airways and third-party airlines, expanding its role as a leading aviation training center in the Pacific.
