Saudia Academy Welcomes Indonesian Consul General, Showcases Aviation Training Offering

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia based aviation training group and full flight simulator training center Saudia Academy welcomed Mr. Yusron Bahadin Ambary, the Indonesian Consul General in Jeddah. During the visit, Mr. Ambary toured the facility, interacting with Indonesian trainees and crew members.

Tampa, Florida – CAE, a global leader in training and simulation, on September 25, 2024, celebrated the inauguration of its new training and simulation facility in Tampa, headquarters to the U.S. Division of CAE Defense & Security (CAE USA). The official ribbon cutting welcomes industry leaders, government officials, and distinguished guests to the modern facility dedicated to strengthening the U.S. defense sector.

The CAE Tampa training center, a 326,000 sq. ft. campus, boasts a 16-bay manufacturing facility for simulation and product development, which delivers flight simulation training and is home to more than 750 valued employees. The inauguration celebrates the cutting-edge facility that broke ground in 2019 on the Tampa International Airport property. The project is a collaboration with Space Florida, the City of Tampa, and county authorities, demonstrating CAE’s commitment to training and simulation in the region as we continue to drive innovative solutions and training modernization in the defense industry.

Global Pilot Training Group BAA Training Highlights FFS Training Center in Spain

BAA Training, which operates full flight simulator training centers and flight schools around the world, has shared information about its full flight simulator training center in Spain including:

  • Opened in 2021
  • Trained pilots for airlines such as Air France, Transavia France, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, Pegasus, Akasa Air, and many others
  • Offers a range of training solutions, including Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 MAX Type Ratings for airline and self-sponsored pilots.
  • In 2023, over 60% of simulator hours at BAA Training Spain were dedicated to airline Type Rating training, with the rest offered via dry and wet lease options.
  • The simulator fleet includes:
    • Two A320 full flight simulators (FFSs) with both CEO and NEO engines
    • One B737 MAX FFS
    • Two A320 FTD Level 2
    • One B737 MAX FTD Level 2
  • The training center currently has seven simulator bays with plans to install additional simulators and/or lease space to airlines, offering both simulator placement and maintenance services.

Aurimas Urbonas, Managing Director of BAA Training Spain, explains: “We primarily offer training solutions for airlines. Last year, more than 60 percent of our simulator hours were dedicated to Type Rating training for airline pilots, with the remaining hours provided via dry and wet lease options. We are flexible in delivering tailored solutions for airlines, whether they need annual hours with or without commitment, exclusivity, dedicated simulators, or housing and maintenance of their simulators.”
