Flight Simulator Manufacturer HAVELSAN Delivers 5th Full Flight Simulator to Turkish Airlines
Ankara, Turkiye headquartered flight simulator manufacturer has delivered the 5th full flight simulator to Turkish Airlines. The latest device, an Airbus A320 full flight simulator, which was delivered and installed in May 2024 and is currently undergoing site acceptance test, is the second Airbus A320 full flight simulator HAVELSAN has delivered to Turkish Airlines in 2024 and forms part of the airlines procurement contract for a total of eleven Airbus A320 ceo/neos and Boeing B737MAX full flight simulators and FTDs.
In the month of May, another HAVELSAN constructed full flight simulator operated by Turkish Airlines achieved European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Level D certification. “We are thrilled to announce the first Airbus A320 EASA full flight simulator certification of a HAVELSAN-manufactured device in 2024. It symbolizes our shared dedication with Turkish Airlines to ensure that the simulator training infrastructure meets standards from around the globe,” stated Mehmet Akif Nacar, Ph.D CEO of HAVELSAN.
In 2023 a number of HAVELSAN Boeing B737MAX full flight simulators achieved EASA Level D Certification and HAVELSAN supported Turkish Airline through a training center partnership.
In 2024 HAVELSAN announced it would ramp up activities and support for airlines and simulator training centers including the ability to manufacturer up to eight full flight simulators per year as well as work with airlines to support them expanding their simulator training center operations through flexible solutions.
Taking its stance in the simulation industry for 40 years, HAVELSAN is dedicated to meet the needs of Flight Simulator Training Devices both domestically and internationally, and continues to provide advanced solutions to its customers. Leading provider of flight training solutions, AXIS Flight Simulation, has successfully qualified the Head-Up-Display (HUD) and Enhanced Vision System (EVS) for Europe’s first Bombardier Challenger CL650 Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS), owned by Rega Swiss Air Rescue and operated by Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT) in Zürich.
The FFS uses a rehosted Rockwell Collins ProLine 21 Fusion avionics system. CL650 pilots can now practice using a HUD and EVS system, helping improve visibility, situational awareness and operational safety while inflight.
Christian Theuermann, member of the executive board, AXIS Flight Simulation, says: “Achieving this qualification for Rega highlights our dedication to delivering high-quality training solutions which harness the latest technology. Alongside our recent launch of AX-D Flex, we have set a new benchmark for cockpit training efficiency and flexibility.”
AXIS Flight Simulation qualified Europe’s first Bombardier CL650 Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for Rega in November 2023. Rega is also the first customer of AXIS Flight Simulation’s AX-D Flex, the first front-loading roll-on/roll-off system, announced in May 2024.
