Riyadh Air Purchases 2 A321neo Full Flight Simulators from CAE and Expands Scope of Partnership
Saudi Arabia – Riyadh Air has expanded its partnership with CAE through the purchase of two Airbus A321neo 7000XR full-flight simulators, strengthening the airline’s in-house pilot-training capability as it continues its operational ramp-up. The new devices will be installed at Riyadh Air’s training facility in Saudi Arabia and complement the airline’s existing Boeing 787-9 training suite procured from CAE in 2023.

The agreement includes full operations, maintenance, and qualification services provided by CAE, expands on the existing Training Centre Operations (TCOPs) agreement signed in 2023 for the operation of two Boeing 787 FFS.

The A321neo simulators will join two CAE-supplied Boeing 787-9 full-flight simulators and a flight training device (FTD), establishing a comprehensive simulation environment for Riyadh Air’s mixed-fleet pilot training requirements.

Kuwait – Acron Aviation has confirmed that Jazeera Airways’ ordered A320neo Reality7e (R7e) Full Flight Simulator will arrive in Kuwait in early 2026, with the device expected to enter training service in the second quarter of the year. The installation will introduce the first R7e simulator to the country, strengthening Jazeera Airways’ in-house pilot-training capabilities as the airline continues to expand its operations.

CAE Begins Global 8000 Pilot Training in Canada Ahead of Aircraft Entry Into Service
Global – global aviation and pilot training solution provider CAE has announced that it will begin training the first pilots for Bombardier’s new Global 8000 business jet in early December at its Montreal training centre, marking a major milestone ahead of the aircraft’s entry into service. As Bombardier’s Authorized Training Provider (ATP), CAE will deliver full-scope pilot and maintenance training programs to support operators as the in-service fleet expands across global business aviation markets.

Initial Global 8000 pilot training will be delivered in Montreal, with additional CAE training locations to be added as aircraft deliveries increase.

CAE’s Global 8000 program incorporates next-generation simulator technology, advanced courseware, expert instruction, and CORe training powered by CAE RiseTM, reflecting the aircraft’s performance and operational sophistication.

Maintenance training for the Global 8000 is now also available, including differences training via CBT for technicians transitioning from other Global-series aircraft, as well as CBT Ground School for Engine Run & Taxi (ERT) and CRM training for maintenance teams.

Maintenance courses are available across CAE’s global training network, at customer facilities, or through live remote delivery using hybrid training rooms.

The Global 8000—featuring the lowest cabin altitude of any civil aircraft and the fastest speed in the business aviation market—will require tailored training solutions to prepare pilots and maintenance technicians for its entry into service.

Air India Training Academy Highlights 2025 Investments Into Pilot Training Infrastructure
India – Air India Training Academy has highlighted the strategic vision behind its newly launched Airbus Simulator Training Facility in Gurugram, with CEO & MD Campbell Wilson outlining the airline’s long-term commitment to strengthening India’s pilot-training and maintenance-training ecosystem. The 12,000 sq. meter simulator centre represents a major expansion of Air India’s in-house training capability as the airline continues its fleet renewal and workforce development plans.

The new facility is part of a USD130 million investment plan with this new facility being able to house and operate 10 Full Flight Simulators (FFS) for the Airbus A320 and A350 (learn more about the facility through AFM’s previous reporting here). The facility is currently equipped with two Full Flight Simulators for Airbus A320 family aircraft. The remaining six A320 simulators and two A350 simulators will be installed progressively.

Air India expects the centre to train 5,000 pilots over the next decade, supporting the carrier’s rapidly expanding narrow-body and wide-body fleets.

The launch complements Air India’s broader training ecosystem, including its Base Maintenance Training Organisation (BMTO) in Bengaluru and its Flying Training Organisation (FTO) with 34 aircraft in Amravati, aimed at developing both pilots and engineers for the national aviation sector.
