BAA Training is Seeking to Hire Head of Training for European Operations in 2025

Global – pilot training group BAA Training, which operates flight school’s and full flight simulator training center’s, is seeking a Head of Training to lead pilot training operations across its European locations. This key leadership role ensures high training standards, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while driving innovation and process improvements within the Approved Training Organization (ATO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage ATO training operations, ensuring compliance with Part-FCL, ORA.ATO.110(b), and regulatory standards
  • Oversee CFI and CTKI postholders to maintain accountability and efficiency
  • Develop, review, and implement ATO manuals, training programs, and schedules
  • Monitor training progress, assess performance, and implement corrective actions
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards
  • Analyze training quality through data and feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Report operational, safety, and performance issues to the Accountable Manager
  • Represent the ATO in external aviation authority relations and collaborate with internal teams (Sales, HR, Operations)
  • Optimize training processes and efficiency through Lean management principles
  • Oversee ad hoc training and FSTD assessments

Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements in ATO and pilot training
  • Experience leading and managing an ATO or airline department
  • ATPL(A) license and at least 50 hours of TRI/SFI training experience
  • TRE qualification (advantageous)
  • Experience in HR management and Safety Management Systems (advantageous)
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to manage complex projects
  • Fluency in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

USA – Wenmar Aviation is now accepting new subscriptions to help individuals comply with the FAA’s new rule requiring foreign pilots and certificate holders to designate a U.S. agent for service. The directive, which applies to those without a U.S. physical address, becomes effective April 2, 2025.

  • The FAA’s final rule requires applicants and certificate holders under 14 CFR parts 47, 61, 63, 65, 67, and 107 to designate a U.S. agent for service if they have a foreign address with no U.S. physical address.
  • The FAA introduced the U.S. Agent for Service System (USAS) as the sole compliance method for this requirement.
  • Due to technical delays in USAS development, the compliance deadline for new applicants has been extended from January 6, 2025, to April 2, 2025.
  • The deadline for existing certificate holders remains July 7, 2025.
