Global Pilot Training Group’s Facility in Vietnam Unveils New Full Flight Simulator
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam based full flight simulator training center BAA Training Vietnam is officially setting up the B737NG Full Flight Simulator (FFS), which will be ready for training in May, marking a significant milestone for the aviation academy in 2024.
BAA Training Vietnam will offer both dry and wet training solutions across all three of its devices: two Airbus A320 and one Boeing B737NG FFS.
BAA Training Vietnam is a branch of global pilot training group BAA Training, a member of Avia Solutions Group, the largest aerospace business group from Central & Eastern Europe providing aviation services and solutions worldwide.

Global pilot training solution provider CAE had the pleasure of welcoming Goldy Hyder, President and CEO of the Business Council of Canada and Paul Thoppil, Lead Trade Commissioner for the Indo-Pacific to CAE’s commercial aviation training centre in Kuala Lumpur, as part of Team Canada’s Trade Mission to Malaysia and Vietnam. During the Trade Mission visit, CAE had the pleasure of signing the extension of their cooperation with Vietnam Airlines for operating Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 Full Flight Simulators (FFS) until the end of 2033. With a significant footprint in the region and the confidence they have fostered with local governments, regulatory agencies, and customers, CAE is well-positioned to be a key partner in training the personnel who give the region’s aviation industry wings today and into the future.

The Fiji Airways Academy is expanding to meet the increasing demand for pilot and cabin crew training from global airlines. Andre Viljoen, the Managing Director and CEO, highlights the pivotal aspect of this expansion, which involves adding two additional simulators to enhance the academy’s capacity for comprehensive flight training programs. Viljoen anticipates that this expansion will attract more international airlines to utilize their facilities, citing the academy’s growth from having no international clients initially to now serving five regularly.
Moreover, the expansion project includes the construction of a three-story building dedicated to safety and service training for cabin crew. Additionally, to improve the experience for both students and staff, there will be an apartment-style accommodation block equipped with modern amenities such as a restaurant, gymnasium, and swimming pool.
Viljoen notes that the project is slated for completion by 2026.
