South East Asian Flag Carrier Extends Full Flight Simulator Cooperation with CAE Until 2033

Vietnam’s flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and global pilot training solution provider CAE have signed an extension of the cooperation agreement for Full-Flight Simulators (FFS). Both parties will extend the cooperation period under the Cooperation Agreement for operating Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 FFSs until the end of 2033. This partnership aims to enhance Vietnam Airlines’ simulator training capabilities, offering increased flexibility, proactiveness, and significant time savings. Such efficiency measures are crucial for the airline’s cost-cutting efforts while ensuring effectiveness during the recovery and development phases.

Under this agreement., Vietnam Airlines maintains its leading position in technology integration, establishing the most advanced pilot training center in Vietnam.

AFM Team note – The signing ceremony was held within the framework of a working visit to Vietnam by Canadian Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development Mary Ng from March 26 to 29.

*Level D qualification under the EASA CS-FSTD(A) Issue 2 regulation. A level D simulator fidelity is at such high level that pilots transitioning to a new aircraft can perform all their training in the simulator instead of the aircraft.

The first device to achieve this certification was located at the CAE Bangkok Training Center.
