Global Aircraft Manufacturer, Boeing, Appoints Key Senior Leaders

Boeing announced Chris Raymond as president and chief executive officer of Boeing Global Services (BGS). Raymond will succeed Stephanie Pope, who was recently named Boeing chief operating officer. Brian Moran has been named Boeing’s chief sustainability officer, succeeding Raymond. The appointments are effective Jan. 1, 2024.

As president and CEO of Boeing Global Services, Raymond will lead all aspects of the company’s aerospace services business supporting commercial, government and aviation industry customers worldwide. BGS had 2022 revenue of $17.6 billion. Raymond will report to Pope and continue to serve on Boeing’s Executive Council.

“Chris brings more than 30 years of Boeing expertise in nearly every aspect of our operations, and has strong employee, customer and supplier connections across our commercial and government markets,” said Pope. “I’m confident he will continue the strong operational performance with our Services team and remain focused on delivering on our customer commitments.”

As Boeing’s chief sustainability officer, Moran will be responsible for advancing Boeing’s sustainability efforts, focused on aerospace sustainability priorities, stakeholder-oriented reporting, industry-wide partnerships and company performance to achieve key sustainability goals. Based in Boeing’s Amsterdam office, Moran will report to Dave Calhoun, Boeing president and CEO, as well as to the Governance & Public Policy committee of the Boeing Board of Directors. He will also serve on Boeing’s Executive Council.

Chris Raymond Biography

Chris Raymond has been serving as Boeing’s chief sustainability officer since October 2020. Prior, Raymond was the vice president of Sustainability, Strategy and Corporate Development. He previously led Autonomous Systems within Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), as well as other BDS business segments and BDS business development and strategy. Raymond began his career as an engineer and has held leadership assignments in engineering, supply chain management, program management, strategy and operations across Boeing.

Brian Moran Biography

Brian Moran has been serving as vice president, Global Sustainability Policy & Partnerships for Boeing. He leads a diverse, global team that elevates and showcases Boeing’s focus on sustainability, which includes informing the global policy landscape and deepening partnerships to advance Boeing’s sustainability objectives, such as the scaling of sustainable aviation fuels. Brian has held leadership roles in Boeing’s commercial and defense businesses, in communications and in government affairs and has been based with the company in St. Louis, Washington DC, London, Seattle, Berlin, Brussels, Chicago and Amsterdam.

Training Aircraft Manufacturer Elixir Aircraft Brings Airworthiness Department In-House

As part of its strong growth and in order to continue certifying these aircraft, Elixir Aircraft has announced the internalization of its airworthiness department. Previously carried out externally, airworthiness is now handled in-house, with the recruitment of Anthony Chauveau and Jonas Dauwe as Airworthiness Manager and Airworthiness Engineer respectively.

Airworthiness is the ability of an aircraft to fly safely, with respect to :

  • Its occupants
  • Other aircraft and,
  • People overflown

The mission of the airworthiness department is to ensure that the aircraft flies safely throughout all its life phases.

About Anthony Chauveau
Anthony studied Mechanical Engineering and Design at the Technlogy University of Belfort Montbéliard (UTBM). After graduating in 2017, he was hired by CEAPR (Centre Est Aéronautique Pierre Robin – the company that owns the intellectual rights to ROBIN aircraft) in June 2017 as an airworthiness and design engineer. Here, he was able to carry out projects in their entirety, including design, certification, methods, industrialization, quality, documentation and so on. It was a very rewarding and exciting time for Anthony. As production rates and development needs increased, he gradually climbed the ladder to become airworthiness manager and head of the design office, while retaining the versatility he cherishes.

“Having reached one of the highest levels in my previous experience, and not wanting to rest on my laurels, I wanted a change of scenery and to discover new perspectives, while putting my skills and know-how to good use in the service of a company on a human scale and on the way up, where I could rediscover a family atmosphere and a product worth fighting for. My natural choice was Elixir Aircraft“, says Anthony. Chauveau.

About Jonas Dauwe
After obtaining a double degree in Aeronautical Engineering from ISAE-ENSMA / INSA in 2017, Jonas began his career at NYCO (Consumables for Aeronautics and Defense) as Program Project Manager. He was able to build up solid experience in the aeronautics industry by leading numerous qualification projects for major European OEMs (Safran, GE, Airbus, Honeywell, KMW among others).

To get closer to the aircraft, he moved from “qualification” to “certification”, working in the H160 airworthiness center at Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.

“The Elixir Aircraft project will enable future pilots to train on a modern, economical and reliable aircraft. With today’s environmental challenges, and as a private pilot, these arguments motivated me to join the adventure and contribute my skills on a broader spectrum this time!“says Jonas Dauwe.

Internalizing the airworthiness department is therefore a major step forward for the La Rochelle-based aircraft manufacturer, which, having passed a milestone by obtaining certification for its Elixir Full Glass Cockpit, is now working on obtaining FAA certification for the Elixir in the United States.

Two (2) pilots were inducted to the Alpha Aviation Group’s Flight Instructor Course (FIC) on 23 November 2023, adding to the growing number of over 40 FIs trained since the course’s inception in 2020. Notably, both individuals joining this intake are alumni of AAG’s Airline Pilot Program (APP).
