Alpha Aviation Group Philippines Welcomes Veteran Airline Pilots to its SFI Course

Clark, Philippines based aviation training group and full flight simulator training center Alpha Aviation Group shared that four (4) veteran airline pilots were inducted to the Alpha Aviation Group Philippines’ (AAGP) A320 Synthetic Flight Instructor Course (SFIC) on 21 June 2023, adding to more than 70 the number of SFIs trained since the course was rolled out in 2016.

“You will play a critical role in instilling confidence, honing skills, developing competencies, and shaping the next generation of airline pilots. Your guidance and mentorship will be instrumental in fostering a deep understanding of aviation principles and preparing trainees for the challenges they will face as they embark on their careers in the airlines,” underscores Capt. Anthony Tan (AAGP Head of Training) in his welcome remarks.

Meanwhile, Capt. Vicente Casibang II, AAGP Accountable Manager, highlighted the course’s comprehensive philosophy designed to equip the trainees with vital skills and expertise to excel as SFIs. “Our SFI Course will enable you to not only impart knowledge and skills, but more importantly th attitude, passion and dedication needed to succeed in the aviation industry,” Capt. Casibang shared.

AAG’s A320 Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) Course is designed for experienced pilots with an ATPL license and a minimum of 1,000 flight hours on type.

Clark, Philippines based aviation training group and full flight simulator training center has shared that four (4) cadet pilots belonging to Airline Pilot Program (APP) Batch 38 and five (5) CPL holders who graduated from other pilot schools were inducted into Alpha Aviation Group’s (AAG) First Officer Transition (FOT) Program on 25 July 2023. This induction marks the final phase of their intensive training to officially become first officers.

In his welcome remarks, Capt. Vicente Casibang II, AAG Philippines Accountable Manager, reassured the trainees of AAG’s continuing commitment to a quality training designed to make them globally competitive.

Meanwhile, Capt. Anthony Tan, AAGP Head of Training, provided the trainees with a snapshot of what to expect during their transition training. “Our goal is to make you competent and help you achieve success in the industry,” he added.

The FOT Program follows the ICAO’s Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) principles and delivered utilizing experienced and skilled instructors, along with a comprehensive suite of state-of-the-art devices and tools. Its aim is to produce airline-ready pilots with a competitive edge.

Hungarian training aircraft manufacturer Magnus Aircraft shared that its CEO László Boros, recently visited Cambodia and saw the Fusion aircraft in service there. During his visit, Boros had the opportunity to discuss a long-term cooperation and further aircraft orders with partner, Lamnei Training Center.

The Cambodian Fusion aircraft, now used for training, arrived at its destination in late 2022 on a ferry flight, the longest ever, covering more than 11,000 kilometres (5,985 NM) in 50 hours flown. According to the Cambodian school, the aircraft is performing excellently in training missions, as evidenced by their latest order.

Philippines Flight Training Group Announces that Another 13 Cadets Successfully Complete First Solo Flights

Thirteen (13) Alpha Aviation Group (AAG) cadet pilots ascended to new heights as they earned their wings and additional stripes on their epaulets last 21 July 2023, after successfully completing their first solo flights.

Capt. Joseph David, AAG International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT) Chief Flight Instructor, and Capt. Christian Louis Cabatic, AICAT Chief Ground Instructor, addressed the cadets and their families, underscoring the value of a two-pronged support mechanism co-owned by trainors and parents to ensure success in pilot training.

In his congratulatory message, Capt. Gaudencio Maniano, AICAT Accountable Manager, lauded the cadets for their perseverance, determination, and unwavering commitment to achieving their dreams.

Cadet Leif Wayne Young, Airline Pilot Program 02-2023 Batch Representative, provided a glimpse of their experience on training. “We have definitely come a long way, filled with many ups and downs, but I am proud to say that we have all made it. Much like an airplane, we take off against the wind. Against the hardships, challenges, or obstacles that have come our way, we were able to rise above and take to the skies,” he shared.

The highlight of the event was the pinning of wings and changing of epaulets facilitated by Capt. Maniano, Capt. David and Capt. Cabatic accompanied by the families and loved ones of the cadets.
