Global – Italian aerospace manufacturer Blackshape Aircraft, a subsidiary of Angel Holding, unveiled its latest sport aircraft, the Prime Xplorer, at AERO Friedrichshafen 2025. This new taildragger variant is designed to cater to aviation enthusiasts seeking a dynamic and authentic flying experience.

  • The Prime Xplorer features a tailwheel configuration, offering pilots enhanced maneuverability and a traditional flying experience. It is engineered to provide high efficiency and control, with reliable and balanced engines ensuring smooth performance under various flight conditions.

  • Developed in response to feedback from the American market, the Prime Xplorer aims to meet the specific demands of U.S. pilots. Blackshape plans to establish a U.S. subsidiary to support this expansion and better serve the North American market.

  • Alongside the Prime Xplorer, Blackshape announced updates to its existing aircraft model: The Gabriél trainer aircraft will now be equipped with the Rotax 916 engine, offering advantages such as the use of automotive fuel, increased payload capacity, and sustained power at high altitudes. Additionally, the Prime model will feature a DULV-certified Rotax 915 engine, enhancing its performance and appeal to a broader range of pilots.
