Belgian Flight School Skywings Flight Training Completes Factory Acceptance of New Flight Simulator

Skywings Flight Training, a flight school based in Antwerp, Belgium, has completed the in-plant acceptance of their new Diamond Aircraft DA40/42 convertible flight simulator. The milestone event took place at the Diamond facilities in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.

This simulator, which features OEM parts only, is set to be shipped and installed at Skywings Flight Training’s campus at Antwerp Airport in the Spring of 2024.

The flight training group previously shared its 2023 milestones and growth including:

  • Partnership with Lufthansa Group owned flight training organisation European Flight Academy
  • Intake of 30 new students for its Integrated ATPL program
  • Rapid employment of graduates with airlines such as Brussel Airlines (average time between graduation and employment being less than three months)

  • Expansion of campus at Antwerp Airport to grow the number of classrooms and simulators

CAE and Charter Operator Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) Sign Exclusive A320 Pilot Training Agreement

CAE announced that it has signed a long-term exclusive pilot training agreement with Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) to deploy and operate an Airbus A320 family full-flight simulator (FFS) in Miami, Florida. The FFS is scheduled to be ready for training in the first quarter of 2024 to support GlobalX’s ongoing growth and the expansion of its Airbus A321 freighter fleet.

“We are delighted to be signing this agreement with CAE to provide GlobalX with a dedicated Level D full-flight simulator,” said John Coomes, GlobalX’s Vice President and Director of Operations. “We expect to see our relationship with CAE continue to grow as we focus on having the very highest levels of safety in our operations.
