VR Flight Simulator Manufacturer, Loft Dynamics, Presents its Airbus H125 Training Device with VR Glass Cockpit

Flight simulator manufacturer Loft Dynamics presented its new Airbus H125 Training Device with VR Glass Cockpit for the first time to the public at European Rotors in Madrid.

Realistic and compact

The cockpit with Garmin GTN650 and G500H TXi avionics suite, contains the full functionality of the original Garmin software. The avionics is operated in VR intuitively, just like in reality. All this was presented in the proven Loft Dynamics simulator layout including 6DoF motion system. The exhibition also provided a platform to demonstrate the compactness of the training solution. This allows to set up the simulator directly at bases of helicopter operators to eliminate time-consuming trips to simulator centers and enables spontaneous training sessions if pilots are available on short notice.

“This is the most realistic simulator I have ever seen. It’s amazing how immersive the environment is, from the very first second when you put on the VR goggles,” said Petr from Prague.

Top-class trade fair for experts

This year’s European Rotors was mainly visited by industry experts. “We have never met such a density of helicopter industry professionals at previous editions of the exhibitions. I am grateful for the enriching specialist discussions we’ve had and look forward to building fruitful collaborations,” says Nils Werder, Key Account Manager at Loft Dynamics. Sven Tschudi, Loft Dynamics’ VP Sales adds: “The interest in our simulator was higher than ever before. This indicates that our growth strategy and global expansion are on a successful path.”

“It’s astonishing how realistic the glass cockpit looks, and that the full functionality is provided. It felt just like being in a real helicopter,” said Juan from Barcelona.

Exited pilots and overwhelming feedbacks

Pat Sieber, Sales Executive at Loft Dynamics is pleased about the interest the simulator has generated: “We are overwhelmed by the demand for test flights. We could have easily filled two simulators at this year’s show.” Over 70 experienced pilots had the opportunity to discover the realism of the simulator up close. Some of them shared their impression with us:

This simulator offers training possibilities like no other full-flight simulator. In particular, low altitude maneuvers can now be executed realistically, thanks to the outstanding vertical reference,” said Christian from Nice.

“We invite you as pilot to experience the sensation of the simulator. Feel how the skids lift off, the precision when hovering close to the ground, and the overall realism of operating the helicopter. Operators providing external sling load transports are encouraged to test our sling load training module, designed for practicing sling load operations using mirror and vertical reference techniques. This module is available as an add-on to our Airbus H125 training solution, suitable to train junior pilots up to experienced experts,” Sven Tschudi, VP Sales at Loft Dynamics says.

FlySto.net Introduce Innovative “Personal IPC Flight” Feature for Pilots to Self Assess IFR Proficiency

The TBM Owners and Pilots Association (TBMOPA) is excited to announce a groundbreaking collaboration with FlySto to unveil the “Personal IPC Flight (P-IPC)” feature. Flown with a safety pilot, the FlySto P-IPC permits TBM pilots to self assess their IFR proficiency using a novel, private assessment tool.

The P-IPC is a brief, but demanding, flight consisting of 2 consecutive instrument approaches. The first approach is hand-flown to the published minimum, missed approach and hold, while the other is executed on autopilot, culminating in a precision landing. The standards for the flight are modeled after those established for the TBMOPA Checkride Challenge, where pilots are evaluated by a professional Check Pilot. For the P-IPC, however, the standards are evaluated digitally and reported to the pilot immediately after the flight for review and guidance.

If a P-IPC flight is conducted in the fashion described, FlySto software will automatically detect it and offer the pilot a “Personal IPC Flight” button that can be clicked to reveal an analysis of numerous parameters associated with the flight, as well as, an overall score.

The flexibility to repeat the flight multiple times enables continuous skill enhancement. An example report generated by FlySto for a completed P-IPC flight is shown below.

For TBM pilots eager to maintain and refine their IFR proficiency, the P-IPC Flight feature is an invaluable tool. Using the latest technology available, it provides valuable feedback to the pilot who is dedicated to safer flight.
