Acron Aviation and Airbus Join Forces to Offer an Upgrade Solution for 25-Hour CVR
Global– Acron Aviation has announced a new collaboration with Airbus to deliver an upgrade solution for Airbus aircraft operators worldwide. The partnership introduces the SRVIVR25 Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) — a 25-hour recording device that meets the latest FAA and EASA compliance requirements and represents the next generation of cockpit voice recording technology.
-
The SRVIVR25, developed by Acron Aviation, is the only 25-hour CVR approved and qualified by Airbus to date.
-
Fully compliant with the FAA Reauthorization Act and EASA CVR regulations, the system ensures operators meet extended voice recording mandates for both new and in-service aircraft.
-
The upgrade is supported through an Airbus Service Bulletin, enabling seamless integration with existing audio panels, cockpit microphones, and datalink recording systems.
-
The SRVIVR25 is designed as a fit-form-function replacement for legacy 2-hour CVRs — regardless of manufacturer — minimizing installation time and aircraft downtime.
-
Operators will benefit from standardized part numbers across new and retrofit installations, simplifying logistics, maintenance, and spares management.
-
The recorder is future-ready, engineered to align with upcoming ED-112B audio standards and offering versions with Recorder Independent Power Supply (RIPS) to reduce wiring, space, and weight while enhancing redundancy.
-
Built on more than 60 years of Acron Aviation’s safety innovation, the SRVIVR25 provides advanced diagnostics, high reliability, and compatibility with existing ground support equipment for efficient data retrieval.
Statements
- “This collaboration with Airbus ensures operators have access to our pioneering SRVIVR25 CVR, a product that sets industry standards and is fully certified to meet the evolving regulatory landscape,” said Alan Crawford, Chief Executive Officer of Acron Aviation.
- Crawford continued, “SRVIVR25 includes versions with integrated Recorder Independent Power Supply (RIPS), significantly reducing wiring, space, and weight requirements while streamlining upgrades across diverse fleets, so airlines are not only meeting compliance standards, but they are also future-proofing their fleets.”
