Asian Airline Group Acquires 2 New Widebody Full Flight Simulators (A350 and B787) from CAE

Taipei, Taiwan – One of the countries largest airline groups, EVA Airways Corp. has expanded its training capabilities with the acquisition of two new full-flight simulators (FFS) from CAE, a global leader in aviation training solutions. The new simulators, which will enhance pilot training, include models for the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787.

  • The Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 FFS will be housed at EVA Air’s state-of-the-art Training Centre in Taipei.
  • These new additions will operate alongside EVA Air’s existing fleet of CAE-manufactured FFS for Boeing 777, Airbus A330, and ATR 72-600 aircraft.
  • EVA Air’s training facility also includes CAE’s A320 and Boeing 777 flight training devices (FTD) and a Boeing 787 integrated procedures trainer (IPT).

Statements:

  • “We thank EVA Air for the confidence they continue to place in CAE for state-of-the-art training equipment, and we look forward to seeing their A350 and B787 pilots training on these new FFS,” CAE said in a statement.

These cutting-edge simulators, certified by EASA – European Union Aviation Safety Agency and CAAF, reinforce its mission to provide world-class training for pilots and engineers in Fiji. By offering advanced training locally, it helps the airline team stay closer to home while developing their careers, reducing the need for overseas training.

With an investment of FJ$160 million in new pilot training devices, the Academy is well-positioned to meet the growing needs of Fiji Airways and third-party airlines, expanding its role as a leading aviation training center in the Pacific.
