Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates based aviation and pilot training center Etihad Aviation Training has shared that during its attendance of the recent Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) 2024 conference that it has partnered with United Kingdom headquartered pilot training educational material publisher Padpilot.

L3Harris Commercial Aviation has announced a simulator update agreement with Sharjah, United Arab Emirates based full flight simulator training center Pier Seven Aviation to upgrade their C2000X Std 1.3 A320 Full Flight Simulator to the latest Airbus standard. This significant update aims to extend the simulator’s life span by at least 15 years.

United States based Stratus Financial, a leading financial services firm specializing in student pilot flight school financing, has reported significant revenue growth, achieving $9.8 million in revenue for the 12-month period ending in June according to media reports.
“Recognizing the financial barriers that many students face, we provide tailored funding options that allow individuals to pursue flight training without being held back by the high cost of education,” said co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Brandon Martini to a local media outlet.
“In the past year, we have made significant strides in expanding our network of school partnerships, allowing us to reach even more aspiring pilots,” he added.
Stratus Financial now has 263 flight school partnerships as of August, up from nearly 150 schools a year ago. Last month, the lender also secured up to $50 million in new financing from Monachil Capital Partners, which will be used to originate new loans.

Unveiled in June, this new training facility prepares students for careers in the aviation industry. The facility houses an Airbus A318 aircraft and several state-of-the-art simulators, including the AL250 equipped with the Engineering Pack.
The AL250 simulator addresses initial phase of training needs (PPL, CPL, IR/ME) and is SEP/MEP re–configurable simulator certified as an EASA FNPT II. In addition, it offers both classic and glass cockpit for each flight model at the simple flick of a switch. This device has been extremely well received since its creation and more than 100 of these have already been installed and are in successful operation worldwide.
The ALSIM Engineering Pack empowers engineering students to be completely independent to design and test aircraft models on the ALSIM AL250 simulator. Integrated within MATLAB® and Simulink®, it offers nearly 4,000 editable variables for endless possibilities.

Two well-known European players in the flight simulation training device market, Hungarian fixed-base simulator manufacturer Simnest Aviation and Dutch Full Flight Simulator manufacturer and flight training center operator Avion, have entered into an agreement at APATS 2024. Under this agreement, Avion – Gen24 will be the exclusive sales and service partner for Simnest Aviation in the APAC region.
Following twenty successfully installed and certified type-representative simulators in Europe, Simnest Aviation decided in 2023 to expand to APAC countries, which it formalized with its presence as an exhibitor at last year’s APATS in Singapore. At this year’s event, Simnest Aviation took another significant step towards achieving its Asian goals. The Hungarian simulator manufacturer has appointed Avion, which will soon open its new training center in Mumbai, as its exclusive sales and service partner for the Asia Pacific region, further strengthening its presence there.

The collaboration does not end with sales representation. Additionally, Avion has also ordered a Simnest A320 FNPT II APS MCC simulator for its new flight training center in Mumbai. This marks another milestone for Simnest Aviation in the Asian market, as this will be their first simulator in the APAC region. Avion’s new high-fidelity fixed-base FSTD will be used both as a demonstration device to support sales activities and to conduct training courses that don’t need the highest qualified Level D Avion Full Flight Simulators.

Global pilot training solution provider and flight simulator manufacturer CAE has shared that it has signed a a long-term agreement for the CAE Pelesys Training Management and Deployment System and Aircraft Type and Special Operations CBT for initial and recurrent training with Vietnam’s largest low-cost carrier VietJet Air.
“Starting October 1, approximately 5,000 users, including 1,000 VietJet pilots, will benefit from the CAE Pelesys software suite.
The use of CAE Pelesys is part of Vietjet’s digital transformation, which will standardize training delivery and management and seamlessly integrate training management data into the airline’s operations systems. The deployment of CBT will make training more convenient for pilots and more cost-effective for the airline.
In addition to CAE Pelesys, Vietjet currently operates three CAE-built Airbus A320 simulators, and CAE delivers Airbus A330 training to VietJet pilots.” shared CAE.
