Flight Simulator Manufacturer WBFT Announces Multiple Customer Milestones in June 2024

Netherlands headquartered flight simulator manufacturer Wright Brothers Flight Technology (WBFT) team highlighted an active June 2024 with clients:

  • WBFT team oversaw the successful completion of the Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) with Czech flight training group F AIR. The Boeing 737-800 FNPT II + MCC simulator is now ready for training. In addition to the B737NG and A320 FNPTII simulators, WBFT is also preparing to deliver two P2006 FNPTII simulators to F AIR Ltd. in the future.
  • WBFT announced its collaboration with Hong Kong City University, supporting Airbus A320 pilot student training and maintenance engineer training.

Aircraft Manufacturer Owned Flight Training Organisation Provides 2024 Fleet Overview

France based Airbus owned flight training organization Airbus Flight Academy Europe has provide an overview of its training fleet of 15 aircraft. Below is an overview of the aircraft utilized in the academy’s training programs:

  • Elixir Aircraft Elixir: Recently added to the fleet, this aircraft is 50% more fuel-efficient than most currently certified machines. With its innovative OneShot technology, the Elixir is lighter and capable of carrying more weight. The Rotax engine ensures reduced noise levels. This aircraft is primarily used for the core phase and VFR phase of cadet training.
  • Cirrus SR20: This light, four-seater aircraft is employed by flight instructors for instrument flight training on single-engine aircraft, providing nearly 50 hours of training as part of the ab-initio program.
  • Diamond Aircraft DA42: A twin-engine, four-seat aircraft, each engine producing 170 horsepower. The cockpit of the DA42 closely resembles that of an airliner, making it ideal for Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and instrument flight training phases on twin-engine aircraft.
  • H3 Grob Aircraft SE Grob G 120: These aerobatic-certified two-seaters are utilized for Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT) during the VFR phase. This training allows cadets to experience and manage specific and unusual flying situations.

Additionally, the academy features two ALSIM AL42 FNPTII simulators, which are integral to the cadet training process.

In February 2024 Jean Longobardi officially stepped down as the President of Airbus Flight Academy Europe and shared the significant milestones under his leadership?

  • establishment of a flight school in 2019 under the high patronage of World Wide ATO of Airbus Commercial
  • expanded the academy’s presence to 5 air bases and naval air bases, with the school for airline and military pilots now located in Angoulême-Champniers.
  • Academy’s fleet grew with the addition of 15 new aircraft, set to increase to 18 soon, including the latest environmentally friendly Elixir. This modern configuration aims to reduce the environmental footprint of pilot training courses while maintaining high educational standards.

Amsterdam, 24 June 2024 – Airbus SE is providing a market update to report on new developments related to its space activities and commercial aircraft business, the impact of which is leading the Company to update its 2024 guidance.

In the first half of 2024, the Space Systems management team conducted an extensive technical review of all programmes, identifying further commercial and technical challenges. On that basis, the Company has decided to record charges of around € 0.9bn in the H1 2024 accounts. These are mainly related to updated assumptions on schedules, workload, sourcing, risks and costs over the lifetime of certain telecommunications, navigation and observation programmes.

In commercial aircraft, Airbus is facing persistent specific supply chain issues mainly in engines, aerostructures and cabin equipment. The Company now intends to deliver around 770 commercial aircraft in 2024 and continues to ramp up towards a rate of 75 A320 Family aircraft per month, which is now expected in 2027.

Accordingly, Airbus is updating its 2024 guidance.

As the basis for its updated 2024 guidance, the Company assumes no additional disruptions to the world economy, air traffic, the supply chain, the Company’s internal operations, and its ability to deliver products and services.

The Company’s 2024 guidance is before M&A.

On that basis, in 2024, the Company now targets to achieve:

  • Around 770 commercial aircraft deliveries;
  • EBIT Adjusted of around € 5.5 billion;
  • Free Cash Flow before Customer Financing of around € 3.5 billion.

The Company’s half-year results will be disclosed on 30 July 2024.

Global Full Flight Simulator Center Operator Simaero Signs MoU for Global Leasing of Simulators

As part of the Europe International Cooperation Forum in Luxembourg last week, Simaero, represented by its CEO Mr. Nicolas MOUTÉ, HNCA Aviation Asset Solutions Co., Ltd., represented by its Chairman Mr. Dongge WANG, and Bank of China represented by the Chairman of its Henan branch Mr. Da peng ZHU, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This MoU aims to establish a comprehensive long-term strategic partnership to develop HNCA Aviation Services Solution, the simulator leasing Joint Venture that has been established in 2023. Through this agreement, Bank of China commits to leveraging the financial service advantages of the Bank of China to enhance support for the financial services required by HNCA and Simaero for full flight simulator leasing in China and abroad.

Once again, HNCA and Simaero joined forces to advance the aviation industry. This strategic cooperation agreement is a logical progression of the two joint ventures established by Simaero and HNCA in 2021 and 2023. These ventures focus on developing simulation engineering services, such as full-flight simulator relocation, and on simulator asset leasing with the goal of becoming China’s first professional simulator asset management company.

The MoU signing was honored by the presence of Mr. Ding Xuexiang, First Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China and member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
