Tecnam Awarded Contract to Supply 10 P2010 TDI Aircraft to Finnish Aviation Academy

Pori, Finland / Capua, Italy – Tecnam proudly announces that it has been awarded a landmark contract by the Finnish Aviation Academy (FINAA) for the delivery of ten (10) Tecnam P2010TDI aircraft. This significant acquisition marks a transformative milestone for Finland’s premier professional flight training institution.

Following a rigorous public procurement process initiated in late 2024, Tecnam was selected from among three strong contenders. The P2010TDI emerged as the ideal solution to support FINAA’s mission of delivering cutting-edge pilot training with a strong emphasis on efficiency, technology, and sustainability.

“These will be the first ten Tecnam aircraft in our fleet, and they will replace our legacy four seat aircraft,” said Ari Tolonen, Managing Director and Accountable Manager of the Finnish Aviation Academy. “We are eagerly looking forward to this cooperation and the arrival of the new aircraft. This is a huge step for our future.”

The FINAA, owned by the Finnish government and headquartered in Pori since 1985, trains 80 to 100 professional pilot students each year, making it the largest ATO (Approved Training Organization) in the country. The adoption of the Tecnam P2010TDI reflects the Academy’s commitment to modernizing its fleet with more capable, environmentally conscious aircraft.

The Tecnam P2010TDI, powered by the highly efficient Continental CD-170 engine and MT Propeller, and equipped with state-of-the-art Garmin avionics, offers a unique combination of advanced technology, low emissions, and fuel efficiency. With its extended range and payload, the aircraft enables IFR training on a single-engine platform—significantly reducing operational costs while enhancing FINAA’s mission flexibility and overall capabilities.

“The P2010TDI is a unique aircraft in today’s training market,” said Paolo Pascale, CEO of Tecnam. “Thanks to its Continental engine, it ensures low operational costs while delivering outstanding performance and reliability. It’s an aircraft that can truly make a difference in the business plan of any flight training organization.”

“We are honored by the trust placed in us by the Finnish Aviation Academy,” said Walter Da Costa, Tecnam Chief Sales Officer. “This order further strengthens our commitment to supporting the next generation of pilots with safe, sustainable, and state-of-the-art training aircraft.”

The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2026, with the full fleet of ten P2010TDI aircraft set to significantly enhance FINAA’s training capabilities in the years ahead.

Tradition, innovation and vision. These factors are taking Tecnam to new horizons. Based on recent data and industry benchmarks, Tecnam offers the greenest training fleet in the world. Flight schools using Tecnam’s single and twin engine fleet can save up to 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions for each student who completes a Commercial Pilot Licence – a 60% reduction compared to a fleet using 100LL fuel across 155 flight hours, including 30 hours in a twin.
