Elixir Aircraft Delivers First Trainer to Portugal’s OATC, with 6 More to Follow

Portugal – French training aircraft manufacturer Elixir Aircraft has officially delivered its first aircraft to Portuguese flight training organisation Omni Aviation Training Centre (OATC), marking a strategic step in OATC’s fleet renewal plans. The announcement was made during the opening of the 23rd European Aviation Training Symposium (EATS) on 5 November 2025.

  • Elixir Aircraft confirmed the delivery of its first aircraft to OATC, following the school’s September 2025 announcement to modernise its training fleet.

  • The delivery aligns with a broader agreement, with OATC having signed a letter of intent (LOI) for seven additional Elixir aircraft.

  • The aircraft will support OATC’s ab initio pilot training programmes and are expected to contribute to increased operational efficiency and standardisation.

Florida, USA – French electric aircraft manufacturer AURA AERO has officially opened its U.S. headquarters and first North American production site at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Research Park in Florida. The 11,000 sq. ft facility will serve as a delivery and support hub for the company’s INTEGRAL training aircraft and a foundational site for the future hybrid-electric ERA program.

  • The new campus will be the North American Delivery and Customer Support Center for AURA AERO’s INTEGRAL aircraft family.

  • The INTEGRAL series, which includes a certified aerobatic-capable two-seater, is offered with a piston engine and a forthcoming 100% electric variant.

  • FAA certification is underway for the INTEGRAL aircraft family, which recently secured EASA type certification.

  • AURA AERO has announced plans for a 500,000 sq. ft assembly line in the U.S. by 2028 to produce its 19-seat hybrid-electric ERA aircraft.

  • The U.S. is expected to account for nearly half of all ERA orders as additional Letters of Intent are finalized; the current ERA LOI book exceeds 650 aircraft valued at over $10.5 billion.

  • The new site was made possible through partnerships with Embry-Riddle, Space Florida, and Team Volusia, with the project expected to generate over 1,000 high-skilled aerospace jobs.
