European Training Aircraft Lessor Resumes Business After Halting Operations Due to the Pandemic
4 Air Investments, a Portugal headquartered European training aircraft lessor is back in business after freezing its operations due to the pandemic. “We started operations some months before the pandemic and we had to stop accepting new contracts due to the uncertainty of the industry. We still managed to support several flight schools in Portugal and Spain before Covid hit us. Now that things are controlled and the industry is revamping again we want to start offering our services to flight schools that are looking to grow their fleets,” said 4 Air Investments in a press release.
4 Air Investments is now working on several requests from schools in Portugal, Spain, Angola, and Italy and has received requests from other countries.
“Our leasing terms are very strict but our close relations with the major general aviation aircraft manufacturers enable us to offer cost and time effective solutions to the flight school industry,” added 4 Air Investments.

Training Aircraft Manufacturer’s Electric Aircraft Selected by Transport Canada to Undergo Operational Trial
Pipistrel Aircraft is proud to announce that their EASA-certified Velis Electro aircraft has been selected as part of the limited number of operational trials initiated by Transport Canada. The trials will assess the use of Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) that meet the European Union Aviation Safety Agency standards (CS-LSA) in a flight training environment.
Transport Canada’s main objectives are to:
- Promote innovation and the use of novel technology
- Encourage the competitiveness of Canadian flight schools
- Support the broader initiative on climate change and reduction of emission (CO2, lead, noise and other pollutants) whilst maintaining a high level of safety.
“This is a positive leap forward in sustainable flying and we look forward to helping facilitate profound research into the benefits of green aviation,” said Pipistrel Aircraft in an announcement.
