Middle East Flag Carrier Receives 1st of 16 Airbus A350‑900s

Egypt – EgyptAir, Egypt’s national carrier, has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350‑900 as part of a 16‑aircraft order, marking the debut of the type in North Africa and signalling a major step in the airline’s long‑haul fleet modernisation and network expansion strategy.

  • The first Airbus A350‑900 arrived from Toulouse on 09 February 2026, marking the beginning of deliveries for a total of 16 aircraft on order.

  • EGYPTAIR becomes the launch operator of the A350‑900 in North Africa, supporting plans to open new non‑stop services from Cairo to long‑haul destinations including the US West Coast and North Asia.

  • EGYPTAIR’s existing Airbus fleet includes 8 Airbus A320neo and 7 A321neo narrowbodies alongside 11 A330 Family widebodies.
