17th Oct 2022

Hareb Al Dhaheri, CEO, of Abu Dhabi, UAE based Horizon Academy – one of the leading independent helicopter flight training academy in the Middle East, has shared with Media Publication Alittihad that the Edge Group Academy is equipped with the latest aircraft including the latest navigation devices to offer world-class training.

Hareb Al Dhaheri said that the academy is currently working to develop more advanced training courses towards the expansion of training programs in both single-engine and twin-engine helicopters as well as the utilization of high-tech simulators to develop and improve standards in pilot training. The academy is always in the loop to check on the needs of both local and global markets in order to deliver customized training services to customers.

The academy, as indicated by Hareb Al Dhaheri, equipped with Bell 505, Bell 429 and Bell 407 and flight simulators, meets the objectives and requirements for basic and advanced training.

“The UAE and most developed countries attach importance to helicopters because it is multi-purpose, and search and rescue flights, cases of transporting patients and wounded, and police and military services are among the areas heavily dependent on the aviation. As the largest independent helicopter training academy in the region, having been in existence for 20 years, Horizon Academy plays a key role in educating pilots locally and internationally, providing certified or customized training on helicopters for the most prominent commercial operators, the defense sector and other sectors,” said Hareb Al Dhaheri.

According to the CEO, Horizon Academy has graduated over 1,800 pilots and has completed 150,000 flight training hours.

“We are proud of the low accident rate among the academy graduates because we have standards and procedures that we follow during training, and then the pilots apply them, which are standards at a high level of professionalism and accuracy,” added Hareb Al Dhaheri.
