Newcastle Aerodrome, a Flight School in Ireland signs partnership with Nigerian Universities
The partnership brings Newcastle Aerodrome to open centres for Aviation Studies and commercial pilot certification in Nigerian universities, starting with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (UNN) and Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO).
Mr Ronan Mullin, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Ireland, in his remarks, said that Ireland is a world leader in education and aviation. The nature of this partnership will provide mutual benefits: Nigerian universities are gaining good experience and the Nigerian students would have the opportunity to fly in Ireland and Newcastle Aerodrome and the aviation industry will benefit too.
Newcastle Aerodrome is a renowned aviation academy in Ireland. The flight school said it chose to start its African expansion with Nigeria because of the availability of students, the English language, and the needed capacity.
The training takes two years and will commence in Nigeria and will be completed in Ireland.
