Pilot Shortages brought about cancellation of nearly 300 American Airlines flights

03rd Aug 2021

About 300 flights, on Tuesday, have been canceled by American Airlines mostly due to pilot shortage while some of the cancellations were due to weather challenges.

Spirit Airlines also canceled half of its flights on the same day as reported by New York Times quoted as follows: “Spirit had scrapped more than half its scheduled flights for the day, according to FlightAware, an aviation data firm.”

“U.S. air travel has already recovered to about 80 percent of 2019 levels,” said Newsweek.
