A year after launching interactive helicopter theory iBooks, pilot training publisher Padpilot has announced a 'device agnostic' version, allowing pilots to access the ATPL(H) theory books from any device.
The books are available on Padpilot's new eReader content platform which can be accessed on any device: Android, Apple and browsers. And one subscription allows downloads onto 3 devices, meaning a student pilot can easily study for their theoretical knowledge exams on their phone, tablet and desktop.
"This time last year we launched interactive theory books for trainee commercial helicopter pilots. They were the first set of ATPL(H) books to be written from scratch specifically for rotary aircraft and their pilots. Up until then, helicopter pilots had to use theory manuals adapted from aeroplane notes, rather than having their own, dedicated content. Now we're delighted that helicopter pilots can access these books from any device and won't have to buy a new iPad," said Padpilot CEO, Graham Cownie.
Padpilot has now released most of its theory books to the new platform: Foundation, PPL(A), ATPL(A) and ATPL(H). In each case the eReader version exactly mirrors the iBook editions. For the helicopter books, Padpilot’s team of subject matter experts created brand new content specifically for helicopter pilot training and the in-house graphics team created thousands of illustrations, animations and 3D models of helicopters and their component parts.
The series of 16 books is fully compliant with the updated EASA syllabus and, with the comprehensive interactive learning features and contextual information that students and instructors have come to expect from Padpilot, it’s the most up-to-date, advanced commercial helicopter theory series on the market.
The Padpilot ATPL(H)complete book set includes:
For helicopter training providers, Padpilot offers tailored packages of teaching and learning resources for students and instructors, learning management systems, and compliance and technical support.
Instructor classroom presentations for all ATPL(H) subjects are available as editable slide-sets that mirror the corresponding book content to make planning and teaching ground school easier and more up to date.
Because the new ATPL(H) eReader book content exactly mirrors the existing iBook editions, training providers can seamlessly switch from iBooks to the eReader without having to change lesson plans or classroom presentations.
