Sweden’s Environmental-friendly Pilot School is Set to Commence Classes in May

Green Flight Academy, an environmental-friendly pilot school based in Skellefteå Airport, which is one of the world’s first fossil-free airports, and utilizes electric aircraft for pilot training as well as using a non-electric traditional aircraft which runs on less polluting biofuel (Piper), is set to commence its classes in May.

The green flight school now has its own two (2) Pipistrel Velis Electro, which is the first electric aircraft to be certified for basic flight training. The two battery packs of the Pipistrel Velis Electro are said to give it a range of 50 minutes and take around 30 minutes to recharge.

“Many persons are interested in flying, but they’re also interested in the technology in flying, especially the green technology,” said Olov Hultdin, CEO, Green Flight Academy.
