02nd May 2023

On Thursday evening, 20th April, at AERO Friedrichshafen, Europe’s most important General Aviation exhibition, Tecnam received the Fliegermagazin Award for the best aircraft in 2023. The prestigious award, now in its twelfth edition, gathered more than 159 key members of the global General Aviation community and honoured the winners of the best General Aviation products and suppliers in nine categories.

The ‘Best Aircraft’ award was accepted by Walter Da Costa, Tecnam’s Chief Sales Officer, who thanked all the readers who voted for the P-Mentor to win this coveted award.

“We are excited our readers have chosen a modern, economical and ecological training aircraft as the best aircraft for the Fliegermagazin Award 2023. We agree with our readers that Tecnam has built an efficient and versatile trainer that is both interesting to clubs and smaller schools as well as large airline-type schools,” said Thomas Borcher, Editor-in-chief of Fliegermagazin.

In his acceptance speech, Walter Da Costa remarked: “We launched the P-Mentor here in Friedrichshafen just over a year ago and it has been a great success. Since then, we have received hundreds of orders from all over the world and it is becoming a paradigm for modern flight training”.

About the P-Mentor

The P-Mentor is a two-seat, single engine, piston, fully IFR aircraft, compliant with the latest CS-23 EASA & FAA requirements, allowing PBN/RNAV/AFCS capabilities. It gives modern flight schools a single platform to train students from their first flight, up to their commercial pilot license, and instrument rating. It has a variable pitch propeller, and a simulated retractable landing gear option.

The P-Mentor is designed to offer the best human-machine interface, resulting in the most effective VFR/IFR training. The generous fuel tank allows flight schools to fly all day long, without refueling, which improves operational value. It has a low cost of maintenance, low fuel consumption, and great value for money, make this aircraft a unique profit opportunity for flight schools.

Tecnam Green Fleet

Based on recent data and industry benchmarks, Italian aircraft manufacturer TECNAM has revealed that flight schools operating TECNAM’s single- and twin-engine fleets can save as much as 10 tones of CO2 emissions for every single student graduated with Commercial Pilot License – a 60% reduction compared to fleets using 100LL fuel on a journey of 155 flight hours, 30h of which on twin.
