UK Military Flight Training Provider Announces 2025 Appointment for Managing Director

United Kingdom – Flight‐training services provider Ascent Flight Training has announced the appointment of Chloe Barker as its next Managing Director, effective early November 2025. Barker joins from Babcock International Group, where she has held a number of senior roles in aviation operations since 2014, most recently serving as Managing Director of the UK Aviation business since August 2023.

  • Barker will transition from her Non‑Executive Director role on the Ascent Board to lead the business in the frontline role.

  • Her background spans defence and civil aviation operations, with particular emphasis on operational delivery and workforce inclusion initiatives in the UK and air domain.

  • Her appointment comes as Ascent continues to scale its role within the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) and broader training markets. Ascent is the prime contractor delivering the UKMFTS on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and its tri‐service aircrew partners.

Ascent Flight Training is a UK‐based training services provider established in 2008 as a 50:50 joint venture between Babcock International and Lockheed Martin. It is the prime contractor for the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS), delivering integrated live and synthetic aircrew training across six UK sites for the RAF, Royal Navy and Army Air Corps.
