United Airlines is looking for a full-time Manager – Aviate and Pilot Recruiting
Job Overview And Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the development, coordination, and optimization of the Aviate tracking and transition process, including data management, forecasting, communication, conditional job offers and transition of Aviate participant pilots to United Airlines. Regular collaboration with Talent Acquisition, Flight Operations, UAX Department and United Express partners on process, strategies, status updates, feedback and documentation related to participant time in program and ultimate transition to United Airlines. Responsible for updates to tracking data and documents as well as maintenance and security of Aviate candidate and participant documents.
- Oversee and optimize applicant flows through the Aviate selection process to ensure correct and expeditious transition to United Airlines.
- Identify areas to improve candidate experience, employee experience and efficiency and implement with a bias toward action.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Flight Operations, internal UAX department and United Express leadership in acquisition and management of Aviate participant data and processes.
- Determine candidate and participant qualifications and transition placement.
- Transform process to transition Aviate participants from the program to United Airlines, including forecasting, communications, Board of Review, participant tracking plus management and maintenance of transition documents.
- Maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of Aviate program, policies, and processes; partner with Pilot Strategy to shape and implement policy changes
- Design and development of documents necessary for Aviate selection processing including offers and transition data and tracking.
- Responsible for Aviate participant analytics throughout time in program as well as transition to United.
- Promote efficiencies throughout the hiring process, while ensuring expedient and quality engagements with key internal/external stakeholders.
- Track candidate status and progress during offer and employment transition goals.
- Develop tools, dashboards and KPIs to provide better visibility of metrics to key stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver Aviate special projects, including technology projects
- Identify areas for communications and monitoring process improvements and work with applicable stakeholders to improve identified areas of opportunities.
The salary for this position is $85,000 to $124,000 dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.

Required
- Associate’s Degree
- 5 or more years HR experience, with at least 3 years of dedicated recruiting experience
- Experience in workforce development programs and campus recruiting
- Experience in developing and executing diversity and inclusion recruiting strategies
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly team-oriented environment
- Ownership mindset and proven ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives
- Experience with tracking and data analytics and building robust presentations
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy and ability to delegate work as needed
- Comprehensive knowledge of staffing and recruiting program administration and ability to recruit hard-to-fill positions utilizing various sourcing methods
- Ability to work on special projects, in addition to typical recruiting workload
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- On site leadership of interviews
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
- BA/BS Degree
- PHR, SPHR or GPHR (Professional, Senior Professional or Global Professional in Human Resources certification)
- Certification as a behavioral based interviewer
- Experience using Taleo or other applicant tracking systems (i.e. iCIMS)
- Experience using HRIS platforms (i.e. PeopleSoft and COMPAS)
- In depth understanding of barriers to entry to the pilot profession for women and racial/ethnic minorities
- Strong knowledge of social media and demonstrated usage of tools such as LinkedIn
- PHR, SPHR or GPHR (Professional, Senior Professional or Global Professional in Human Resources certification)
- Certification as a behavioral based interviewer
