US Public High School Students Get Flight Training Through Aviation Scholarship
High school students from Florida, US’s Collier county are getting their flight training as part of their education and also because of the James C. Ray Scholarship – a rolling application grant provided by the Collier Community Foundation for aviation programs which has already provided nearly US$1 million in scholarships towards aviation programs since its inception.
Students across the county have the option to enroll in aviation program at the Marco Island or Immokalee area airports. The program is run through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
“When you graduate high school, you should be looking for a career, not a job. Aviation has so much opportunity for our youth – something that will last you a lifetime,” said Alan Davis, the program director.
