US Simulator Training Center – Pan Am Flight Academy plans new training location in Miami-Dade
Pan Am International Flight Academy could open a flight simulation training center in Hialeah.
This would be the company’s second South Florida flight simulator for commercial pilots after its headquarters near Miami International Airport.
The Hialeah City Council on Aug. 24 passed a conditional-use permit for the flight school on first reading, giving the academy permission to operate within a warehouse not typically used for education training. A second and final vote is scheduled for Sept. 14, said Holland & Knight attorney Alejandro Arias, who represents the applicant.
The application states it would host 20 flight simulators with capacity for up to 60 pilots, including instructors. It will have up to 20 instructors and three staff members at one time.
