US University, Utah Valley University, is Looking for a Chief Flight Instructor
The Utah Valley University School of Aviation Sciences is currently looking for a Chief Flight Instructor. Please see an extract of the job post below.
“Applicant who shall have the following responsibilities:
- Oversees effective and efficient pilot training courses and activities under FAR 61 and 141;
- Oversees the standardization of aircraft operation and training procedures;
- Oversees adherence to flight training curriculum;
- Participates with faculty curriculum committee in creation and development of flight training curriculum;
- Supervises the training and evaluation of flight instructors, check instructors and assistant chief instructors;
- Participates in faculty and other coordination meetings;and, participates in hiring flight instructors.
- Ensures the proper maintenance of student and instructor records and compliance with TSA regulations.
- Conducts flight and ground instruction as necessary.
- Participates in the development and implementation of School safety initiatives.
- Maintains proficiency and currency in FAA Certification.
- Promotes adherence to aviation and TSA regulations and UVU policies, procedures and safety practices.
- Supervises the administration of CATS testing center.
- Participates in School development of policy and procedures in conjunction with faculty.
- Oversees operation of aircraft maintenance flights.
- Oversees the implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Participates in flight evaluation boards.
- Plans and conducts regular standardization meetings.
- Reviews aircraft incidents, accidents, pilot training issues and other safety concerns and make recommendations to the Chair and Director of Safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited institution with an appropriate degree in a field of study directly related to the summary of duties plus professional experience related to the program or discipline.
Preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications:
- FAA Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land, Multiengine Land, and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Current FAA Flight Instructor”
