American Spaceflight Company, Virgin Galactic, is Looking for a Flight Simulator Manager

Virgin Galatic is looking for an experienced flight simulator professional to join its team. Please see an extract of the job post below:

"Virgin Galactic is looking for a Flight Simulator Manager to be based at its facilities at Spaceport America, New Mexico. This position forms a part of VG’s Flight and Test Operations, under the Space Missions and Safety group. The successful candidate will be a great team member, proven manager, and will have excellent communication skills. Candidates will be very familiar with the various factors and considerations involved in the maintenance and operation of flight simulators and, ideally, will also have experience of design, build and development of unique bespoke simulation devices. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

• Management of the Virgin Galactic Flight simulators
• Supporting pilot training and engineering evaluations
• Ensuring readiness and availability
• Scheduling and programming
• Overseeing maintenance and spares holdings.
• Identifying improvements and supporting upgrades
• Budget management and tracking
• Operating the current flight simulators
• Future simulator planning: Overseeing the preparation, coordination, introduction and operation of new spaceship and mothership simulators, as they become available; Planning and coordination of campus expansion requirements related to simulators.

What You Bring

• Minimum of 3 years working in flight simulation
• Project or operations managerial experience
• Good team player
• Excellent communication skills
• A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or other related subject
• The position is to be based in New Mexico.

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Some flying experience
• Experience of flight operations
• Experience of flight test
• Experience of simulator build and development"
