Qatar – during the visit of US President Donald Trump, it was announced that the country’s flag carrier Qatar Airways, had signed for up to 160 widebody aircraft from Boeing.

Singapore – Boeing has announced the appointment of Zaid Alami as Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific & Oceania, leading Customer Support for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. This new role follows his leadership tenure at Boeing Indonesia and marks a strategic move to enhance customer engagement across a region critical to Boeing’s future growth.
Boeing forecasts demand in the region over the next 20 years to include:
4,720 new airplane deliveries and 7.2% annual traffic growth in Southeast Asia.
1,470 new deliveries and 3% annual growth in Northeast Asia.
740 new deliveries and 3.7% growth in Oceania.
The forecast also anticipates the need for 373,000 new aviation personnel and a commercial services market valued at $635 billion.
Alami will continue his support for Indonesia’s aviation sector, now from a regional leadership perspective.

Saudi Arabia – the Kingdom’s global aircraft lessor AviLease has placed its first direct order with Boeing for up to 30 Boeing B737MAX. The agreement, covers 20 firm commitments for the Boeing 737 MAX 8 and an additional 10 options.

Building on our recently achieved investment grade ratings, this transaction proves our ability to transact across all market channels, including sale and lease-back, secondary trading, M&A and now direct OEM purchasing. China – According to media reports China has officially lifted its ban on Boeing aircraft deliveries following two complex trade months between the United States and China. Officials are said to have started informing domestic carriers and government agencies that deliveries of Boeing aircraft can restart this week.
Boeing has previously indicated that it plans to deliver another 50 aircraft to Chinese airlines 2025. Public available data shows that 14 Chinese airlines have at least a combined 137 Boeing aircraft on order – it should be noted that Chinese airlines mostly do not disclose their orders and it only becomes known at the aircraft delivery stage.

Vietnam & Kazakhstan – Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet Air and Kazakh regional airline Qazaq Air have announced the formation of a new joint venture airline, Vietjet Qazaqstan, which will operate a fleet of at least 20 Boeing 737 aircraft. The new airline aims to enhance air connectivity between Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and the broader Southeast Asian region.
Vietjet Qazaqstan was officially unveiled at the Kazakhstan–Vietnam Business Roundtable on May 6, 2025, during a state visit by Vietnamese General Secretary To Lam.
The airline will be built upon Qazaq Air’s existing platform and supported by Vietjet’s operational and digital expertise.
Vietjet’s subsidiary, Aviation Holdings, has received a Foreign Investment Registration Certificate from Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance to acquire a strategic stake in Qazaq Air.
Boeing and Vietjet Qazaqstan signed a Customer Services General Terms Agreement, covering spare parts, software solutions, technical support, and crew training for the incoming B737 fleet.
