Training Aircraft Manufacturer Elixir Aircraft Delivered More Than 26 Aircraft

Elixir Aircraft, a fast-growing training aircraft manufacturer headquartered in La Rochelle, France, has delivered its 27th aircraft. With the objective to deliver one aircraft per week by the end of the year, Elixir Aircraft continues the ramp up of production in order to meet demand.  Earlier in the month Elixir Aircraft announced that it had signed 80 letters of intent for 110 aircraft at AirVenture as well as 20 reservation contracts (pre-orders). This brings the order book to 330 aircraft, including orders, pre-orders and letters of intent, for all markets combined.

Scottish Airline Announces 2024 Appointment for Chief Operating Officer and Accountable Manager

Scottish regional airline Loganair has announced the appointment of Natalie Bush as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Accountable Manager.

Natalie, who is currently the UK Director and Accountable Manager for TUI Airways, will join as part of our Executive Committee in December 2024, and will report to CEO, Luke Farajallah.

She will also be joining the Board Safety Review Committee, reporting directly to the Loganair Chairman James Drummond on matters relating to airline safety and safety culture.

Natalie has had an impressive career to date, which commenced with several years in the Royal Navy as a Warfare officer, before she joined Flybe as a pilot, initially flying the BAE146, and the Embraer 195.

Her flying career progressed to see her achieve a command on the Q400 fleet at the same time as taking on management roles, ultimately leading to being appointed as Director of Safety and Security for the airline until 2019, when she left to join Specialist Aviation Services (now Gama Aviation) as COO. Following a successful time in the rotary sector delivering helicopter and maintenance services to the UK air ambulance industry, she then returned to the airline sector with TUI Airways.

Natalie will assume leadership for all operational and service delivery areas including the pilot, cabin crew and airport workforce groups across Loganair. She will also be responsible for ground handling, safety, security, and compliance, as well as for the network operations teams. She will additionally lead industrial relations across the front-line areas.

  • Creating and executing a strategy of sales in Poland.
  • Together with marketing team in HQ developing marketing campaigns across all channels, including TV show, dedicated YouTube channel, TikTok, etc., to attract participants to the pilot training program annually.
  • Building relationships with secondary schools/high schools to promote and cooperate for pilot training.
  • Answering incoming inquiries (Leads).
  • Providing information to the clients by phone, live/virtual meetings and e-mail.

  • Career counselling for clients using in-depth market knowledge.
  • Actively participating in exhibitions, open days, conferences, webinars, seminars in Poland.

  • Preparing contract according to the company’s standard forms, agreeing on contract conditions with the clients.
  • Verifying specific documents and initiating KYC process.
  • Coordinating client support prior onboarding: accommodation, visa questions, medical checks, etc.
  • Working according to approved company processes.
  • Working with company IT systems to monitor and ensure a smooth sale and client service process.
  • Participating in daily meetings based on Lean principles.
  • Setting and achieving short-term and long-term goals in accordance with the company’s strategic goals.

The A322 Cockpit Procedures Trainer (CPT) is a full tactile but open cockpit structure which can be placed in classroom environments for high fidelity training of all normal and abnormal procedures prior to entering the Full Motion Simulators (FFS). The time saved per student (time otherwise spent on the FFS) makes for a very rapid return on investment.

Dutch Aviation Trainers (DAT), a leading provider of pilot training solutions based in the Netherlands, has shared that it has received approval from the CAA-NL (Netherlands) for its Embraer E2 to E1 Difference course.

In March this year Dutch Aviation Trainers announced that it has received approval to conduct Type Rating Examiner (TRE) and Synthetic Flight Examiner (SFE) training for the Embraer 170/190 and Embraer 190-E2 series aircraft.

Spanish Flight Training Group FlyBy Announces New Base in Madrid with Plans to Grow to 500 Student Capacity

FlyBy, a flight training group headquartered in Burgos, Spain, has shared that together with Ocaña Airport’s new owner – ELA AVIACION, S.L. it is planning to develop the largest flight training base in Europe located in south Madrid.

Ocaña Airport, located 60 km (55 min) south of Madrid will see the development of an aviation training base for more than 500 students.

Accommodation on-site will be provided with a new concept in coliving called Aerea House by ColivINN, one of the largest coliving operators worldwide and part of the larger ELA Aviacion Group.

Operations will start in September 2024 with 50 pilot students growing to 150 by January 2025.

Long term plans include reaching over 300 pilots in 3 years, plus additional training for Aircraft Engineers and Air Traffic Controllers totaling 500 students on site.

FlyBy has over 300 students from 112 different nationalities and a fleet of 45 airplanes and 3 simulators along is 3 bases in Ocaña, Logroño and main base in Burgos, Spain.

Ocaña airport will also develop FBO services for the business jet industry.

Ocaña airport currently has 2 runways and 4 hangars with plans to develop taxiways and additional runways as required. Plans to expand technical capabilities to include Night VFR and IFR flights are targeted to be completed before end of 2025.

“Ocaña airport benefits from great weather conditions together with its proximity to Madrid but without the congestion associated with larger cities. It makes a perfect location for pilot training!” shared Alex Alvarez, CEO of FlyBy.
