US Flight School Aviator College Welcomes French Cadets to Florida Training Base in 2025

Florida, USA – Aviator College of Aeronautical Science & Technology has welcomed a new group of international students from the France’s Wecair program to its European Flight Training (EFT) program, marking the start of their professional pilot training journey.

In March 2025 WECAIR, the France headquartered international pilot training organisation, had launched the Flyfirst World programme, the first pilot training curriculum conducted across three continents. This 22-month course provides cadets with a comprehensive aviation education in the United States, Europe, and South Africa, culminating in an EASA licence.

  • Programme Structure:

    • Phase 1: Initial flight training in Florida, USA (16 weeks)

    • Phase 2: Theoretical ATPL courses in Bordeaux, France (36 weeks)

    • Phase 3: Time-building flights in South Africa (12 weeks)

    • Phase 4: Advanced flight training in Europe, including EASA CPL/IR ME/AUPRT (16 weeks)

    • Phase 5: Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Jet Orientation Course (JOC) on A320/B737 simulators in Europe (3 weeks)

Job Summary

OSM Aviation Academy is seeking a safety-focused and driven aviation professional to join its leadership team as Head of Flight Operations / Base Manager for its FAA Part 141 flight training facility at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE).

This position involves both the administrative oversight of daily training operations and followup flight instructions. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality ground and flight training, ensuring compliance with FAA standards, and supporting student progress in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about aviation leadership and wants to help shape the next generation of Airline Ready pilots.

Key Responsibilities & Instructional Duties

  • Deliver ground, flight, and pre-/post-flight instruction in accordance with FAA Part 141 regulations and the school’s approved Training Course Outlines (TCOs)
  • Prepare students for knowledge, proficiency, and practical tests (Stage Checks, End-of-Course Evaluations, FAA Check rides)
  • Conduct stage checks and proficiency flights (if authorized)
  • Maintain high instructional standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate training records, and provide regular feedback

Administrative & Leadership Duties

  • Manage the day-to-day training operations and scheduling at the KFXE base
  • Supervise and support flight instructors and operational staff
  • Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, TCOs, and OSM internal standards
  • Support and participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new instructors
  • Collaborate with the management team to grow OSM Aviation Academy’s footprint and activities in the U.S.
  • Lead standardization and continuous improvement efforts in curriculum, safety practices, and instructor performance
  • Organize and attend instructor meetings, safety briefings, and internal audits
  • Act as the point of contact for base-level administrative coordination, including liaison with airport authorities and vendors

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Preferably prior operational experience from Military and/or Part 121/135 operations
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII) – SE/ME/IR + FAA Medical Class I
  • Meet requirements outlined in FAA 14 CFR §141.35
  • Ability to pass a TSA background check
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
