Airport Technology publishes ‘Airlines trends: Pilots most mentioned term on Twitter Q4 2021’
Pilots lead as Airport Technology lists the top five terms tweeted on airlines in Q4 2021, based on data from GlobalData’s Travel and Tourism Influencer Platform.
The top trends are the most mentioned terms or concepts among Twitter discussions of more than 150 airlines experts tracked by GlobalData’s Travel and Tourism Influencer platform during the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2021.
Key trend identified in the data was the development of the shortage of pilots in the US and the effect it has had on airline operations.

*AFM.aero Team note; with a large number of US Flight Schools having a reported an increase in cost of customer acquistion (CAC) for Flight Training students it seems that the increasing digital and media attention does not seem to have much of an effect in creating additional demand. The full negative impact of the pandemic on the perception of the pilot profession and its job security are a large component the industry will need to solve.
