Alpha Aviation Group Philippines Provides Career Orientation to Aircraft Maintenance Students

Furthering its commitment to support the ongoing rebound of the aviation industry, the Alpha Aviation Group International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT) Maintenance Training Center (MTC) participated in the Parent’s Meeting and Career Orientation organized by the Asian College of Aeronautics (ACA) on 01 July 2023.

The hybrid activity benefited more than 300 parents and students who joined face-to-face and over 300 graduating students who joined online. The event provided the attendees an opportunity to gain insights and explore the various career prospects within the aviation field as discussed by ACA’s industry partners.

Kevin Dy Tria (AICAT-MTC Head of Training) represented AAG International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT) made an informative discussion about the aviation industry’s future demands, the competitive advantages the Philippines possesses within the regional and global aerospace value chain, and the opportunities that lie ahead for ACA students upon graduation.

In addition, Tria introduced to the participants the various aircraft maintenance and training apprenticeship programs of AICAT-MTC designed with an aviation career-centric approach in mind, ensuring seamless integrate into the aviation industry, hence reducing training cost.

OMNI Aviation, the premiere aviation academy, hosted a successful symposium for aspiring pilots titled “Take-Off Your Pilot Career” last June 17, 2023, at the Quest Hotel. Distinguished pilots, including Capt. Christopher Natividad, Director for Corporate Safety at Philippines AirAsia; Capt. Eleazar Cayago, Vice President of OMNI Aviation; and Roberto Longanilla Jr., Flight Instructor Trainee at OMNI Aviation, graced the symposium as guest speakers.

Mr. Longanilla Jr. talked about his experiences as a current flight instructor trainee and inspired the aspirants to pursue their pilot dreams.

Capt. Cayago emphasized essential career points that the hopeful pilots in attendance should keep in mind as they move forward with their dream careers. Some of these points include staying focused, balancing life and work, and finding a mentor, among others.

Capt. Natividad shared his personal journey towards his current profession and how he was able to start and finish his pilot training in his 30’s, inspiring the audience that it is never too late to pursue their pilot dreams.

Meanwhile, Mr. Eric Batac, a pilot and current BDG Sales Officer, further explained the courses offered under OMNI’s Pilot Training School.

The presentations concluded with a lively Q&A session, where attendees eagerly asked questions about career opportunities, airline and training requirements, and sought further advice from the guest speakers.

Following the symposium, participants eagerly approached the pilots for photo opportunities and to seek additional guidance. The event proved to be an enlightening and engaging experience for all. Boy Scouts Visit Philippine’s Largest Pilot Training Group, AAG, Earn Aviation Merit Badges

Fifteen (15) members of Boy Scout Troop 485, accompanied by Edgar LaBenne (Boy Scout Troop 485 Charter Organization Representative) and other officials from the Boy Scouts of America, visited AAG Philippines to earn their Aviation Merit Badges last 01 July 2023.

Troop 485 was established in 2013 and chartered by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2485, located in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. Boy Scout Troop 485 is part of the East Asia District in the Far East Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The troop currently has over 30 scouts age ranging from 12 to 16 years old.

Charmaine Cecil Liwanag (AAGP Marketing & Sales Executive) provided the scouts with a comprehensive overview of AAG programs and training courses, outlining the basic requirements and preparations to become a cadet pilot. The scouts were later toured around the simulator training center and given simulator discovery flights, fulfilling the basic requirements for them to earn their Aviation Merit Badges.

This visit forms part of AAG’s Edu-Techno-Tourism Program, which aims to promote educational and technological tourism experiences.
