Aviation Distance Learning Provider, CPaT, Announces New Contract with Italy-based Cargo Operator

CPaT Global, the world’s leading provider of distance learning for the airline and aviation industry, announced they have been recently awarded a new contract with Poste Air Cargo. CPaT has provided the enhanced tailored Boeing B737-800 Freighter BCF course along with Aircraft Procedures. CPaT is also providing standard Aircraft Systems for the ATR72-500 paired with its robust portfolio of Aviation Specialty Courses (General Subjects). Through CPaT Invent, CPaT’s first-of-a-kind content design software, Poste Air Cargo can create and modify content.

Ian Matheson – Founder

Ian Matheson established Stoneybrook Training in 2002, responding to the need for ATPL law lectures for Air New Zealand’s contract pilots from the United Kingdom. With over thirty years in the aviation industry, Ian brings a wealth of experience as an instructor, air ambulance pilot, corporate pilot, and commercial pilot. His flight log boasts over 14,000 hours, covering both corporate jets and commercial airliners. Ian has come full circle having commenced his career as the Ground School Supervisor at AFS.

Alastair Bax – Retired Boeing 737 Check and Training Captain, Director Aviation Data Services Ltd

Alastair Bax is a retired Boeing 737 Check and training captain with over 40 years experience and 23,000 hours flying. Al started his career as a flying instructor (Cat B and D) and charter pilot, then flew multi engine IFR for a third level airline before joining Ansett in 1988. He has been involved in classroom teaching at various times over the years and has built many web based courses for airline staff. Al spent the last few years in the airline industry as a Simulator Check Captain.

Simulator Manufacturer Entrol Provides Simulators to CAE Defense & Security for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Rotary Wing, Introductory Flight Training

Spain headquartered flight simulator manufacturer Entrol has delivered three Bell 505 configured simulators to CAE Defense & Security in support of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Rotary Wing (IFT-R), Introductory Flight Training at the CAE Dothan Training Center.

Entrol was subcontracted to deliver two H1000 Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) devices with the Bell 505 configuration and one Bell 505-based Flight Training Device (FTD) Level 5 unit. The simulators are equipped with a full G1000H replica developed by Entrol, making the transition from the simulator to the real helicopter as smooth as possible.

CAE was awarded the USAF Rotary Wing, Introductory Flight Training in June 2023 to support the U.S. Air Education and Training Command and provide critical flight training to USAF student pilots as part of the Helicopter Training Next program. The program supports the training of all initial USAF rotary-wing air, ground, and simulation training.

Canary Islands-based Flight School Purchases Entrol Manufactured Generic Flight Simulator

Entrol, the renowned flight simulator manufacturer, has sold a unit of its en-4000x FNPT II MCC simulator to Canavia, an aviation academy with more than fourteen years of experience located in the Canary Islands, Spain.

The en-4000x is a generic simulator that offers up to seven different configurations and has been acquired by the company in order to enhance its pilot training program.

This unit is equipped with a MEP G1000 and JET (based on the Airbus A320 aircraft) configurations, and a cylindrical visual system supported by the X-Plane 11 image database, allowing students to experience highly realistic training.

Its sale took place in December 2023 and was followed by factory acceptance testing in January. The installation of the simulator at Canavia facilities was completed two weeks ago.

Iñigo Hernández Irizar, Business Manager of Entrol, states that “We are very proud of this project. We have been able to deliver a simulator only one month after the order, another proof of our manufacturing capability, also in fixed-wing”.

Mario Pons, CEO and Head of Training of Canavia states “we have trusted Entrol for their great service and reliable team. This new simulator will allow us to duplicate instrumental training hours capacity and to increase continuous operation without interruptions, bringing Canavia’s total to 4 flight simulators, including an A320 simulator in South Tenerife and a B737 simulator in North Tenerife”.
