Italian FTO Tecnam Academy Expands 2025 Fleet with P-Mentor

Capua, Italy – Tecnam Flight Academy is proud to announce the addition of the new Tecnam P-Mentor to its training aircraft fleet. The P-Mentor, Tecnam’s latest aircraft, represents the perfect blend of advanced technology and cost optimization, making it ideal for IFR training. This aircraft joins an already all-Tecnam fleet:

  • 2x Tecnam P2008 JC

  • 1x Tecnam P2006T (2006)

  • 1x Tecnam P2010 TDI

  • 1x Tecnam P-Mentor (new)

Additional aircraft will be added in the coming months to further modernize the fleet.

“I’m particularly proud of this synergy that combines our educational experience with Tecnam’s technological excellence. This enables us to offer our students top-tier training, aligned with the needs of modern airlines.” — Carolina Pascale Langer, Accountable Manager.

With a growing number of students, the Academy offers modular training programs from PPL to ATPL, ensuring a consistent and highly professional training experience, thanks to a modern fleet fully integrated with Tecnam technology.

The P-Mentor is a two-seat single-engine piston aircraft, fully IFR-compliant and certified under the latest CS-23 EASA and FAA standards, enabling PBN/RNAV/AFCS capabilities. Today’s flight schools can rely on a single platform to train students from their first flight through to the CPL-IR, featuring a variable-pitch propeller, simulated retractable landing gear, and UPRT.

The P-Mentor has been designed to offer the best human-machine interface, resulting in the most effective VFR/IFR training experience. Its large fuel tank allows flight schools to fly all day without refueling, increasing operational value. Low maintenance costs, low fuel consumption, and excellent value-for-money make the P-Mentor a unique and profitable asset for any modern flight school.

The introduction of the P-Mentor further strengthens the strategic partnership with Tecnam, delivering key advantages such as:

  • Standardized and continuous training methodology

  • Operational cost efficiency

  • State-of-the-art avionics

  • Direct manufacturer support

  • Enhanced brand value

  • Additional training for Tecnam customers (avionics, additional ratings)

Giovanni Pascale Langer, Managing Director at Tecnam, stated: “The collaboration between Tecnam and the flight school is a natural extension of the passion for aviation that has always driven our family. Through Tecnam Flight Academy, we have the unique opportunity to experience what our customers do, further strengthening our commitment to a modern, high-quality, pilot- and school-centered aviation approach.”

Tradition, innovation, and vision — these are the driving forces taking Tecnam to new horizons. Based on recent data and industry benchmarks, Tecnam offers the world’s most environmentally friendly training fleet. Flight schools using Tecnam’s single- and twin-engine aircraft can save up to 10 tons of CO₂ emissions per student earning their Commercial Pilot License — a 60% reduction over 155 flight hours, including 30 in a twin-engine, compared to traditional fleets using older 100LL-fueled aircraft.

Digital Aviation Training Publisher Padpilot Launches ATPL(A) CBT Version

Gloucester, United Kingdom – Padpilot, the globally popular digital aviation courseware publisher, has launched an advanced Computer‑Based Training (CBT) version of its acclaimed ATPL(A) books, tailored for Approved Training Organisations (ATOs) that wished to deliver modular, interactive ground school study.

  • The new Padpilot CBT edition mirrors the full content and pedagogical quality of its book-based ATPL(A) titles but is now delivered in a structured, module‑based, mobile‑responsive format optimized for desktop study.

  • It includes the familiar interactive content, clear explanations, and quiz features, packed into a flexible CBT delivery model suited to ATO workflows.

Back in May Padpilot shared that it Was making its multi-lingual, advanced AI study tool, The Padpilot Briefing Room (PBR), available to individual student pilots, not just pilot training schools.

Having launched the ‘smart ATPL assistant’ to training providers in November 2024, Padpilot aim is to make ATPL theory studies more productive for individual student pilots and instructors too.

“The Padpilot Briefing Room is a game changer,” said Nathan Gray, CEO of Padpilot. “You can instantly clarify a complex aspect of the syllabus, or use it to create test questions and lesson plans. It’s saving our partner schools a lot of time, and allowing students to study independently and efficiently – all safe in the knowledge it’ll only give you trusted Padpilot-approved content from our own ATPL(A) books.”

The Padpilot Briefing Room (PBR) is a next-generation AI-powered Smart Assistant. It uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) which combines a powerful Large Language Model (LLM) with Padpilot’s authoritative knowledge vault of verified ATPL(A) training material. When a student or instructor types a question into the PBR, the system dynamically retrieves contextually relevant information from this high-quality, domain-specific dataset, meaning every answer is solely generated from verifiable content – avoiding the potential errors and inconsistencies common with simpler AI models and general search queries.

The PBR also goes beyond simple question-answering. It can ‘see’ and explain images from Padpilot’s ATPL(A) books, as well as render complex maths formulae and tables. It can provide EASA Learning Objective and book chapter references with each answer given, facilitating further study, and is multilingual.

The Padpilot Briefing Room is available as an optional extra to all individuals in possession of a full set of Padpilot’s ATPL(A) books and is a text-only version of the PBR. An 18-month PBR ATPL(A) subscription costs £49 for 650 question prompts (text only). Individual pilots and instructors can learn more about the PBR and subscribe via the Padpilot website.

Pilot training providers can licence the full version of the PBR, which also contains comprehensive Padpilot imagery.
