Reiser Simulation and Training GmbH is proud to announce the successful qualification of the D3 Flight Model for the H145 FFS, which was handed over to Swiss Air-Rescue Rega last November. Certification was made by the Swiss Authorities, marking a major advancement in Rega’s training program and underscoring their dedication to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

Rega‘s new Full-Flight Simulator already featured a simulation of the H145D2 helicopter. Now, in line with Rega‘s coming all new fleet of H145D3 helicopters, the simulator reflects this latest five bladed version of the H145D3 helicopter to fully and timely support the transition training of all Rega pilots.

ICARUS Devices announced PHI Air Medical is now using the Smart View Limiting Devices to train for instrument flight rules (IFR) and inadvertent entry into instrument meteorological conditions (IIMC).

ICARUS is a smart view limiting device that allows instructor pilots to simulate degraded visual environments (DVE) or poor visibility in the aircraft for dynamic scenario-based training.

ICARUS changes visibility and allows Instructor Pilots to dial in the visibility for dynamic scenario-based training. Bringing together the controllability of a simulator with the real sensation of flight allows ICARUS to give pilots the best training possible for visual flight rules (VFR) into IMC, IFR, and weather decision making. PHI will be utilizing the device for both day and night vision goggle (NVG) training.

Global Pilot Training Solution Provider, L3Harris, Supports Air Astana’s Growing Training Capacity with 2nd A320neo Full Flight Simulator

L3Harris is pleased to announce that it has secured a contract with Air Astana JSC to supply its Flight Training Centre with an Airbus A320neo Full Flight Simulator (FFS). This state-of-the-art training device will enter service in the second half of 2025. Located at the Air Astana Flight Training Centre at Astana International Airport it will provide Central Asia’s largest airline, and its subsidiary FlyArystan, with increased capacity to fulfill its growing Airbus pilot training requirements. The A320neo FFS will hold both EASA and local Level D regulatory approvals, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The latest device will be the carrier’s second A320neo FFS from L3Harris. The first was delivered in 2023 and was the first FFS for Air Astana and the first FFS device installed in Kazakhstan.

Ben Swann, VP and General Manager for Training Systems at L3Harris said: “This A320neo represents a significant milestone in our partnership with Air Astana. We are proud that an L3Harris device was the first FFS to be installed in Kazakhstan and this second device shows the region’s leading airline have confidence in our technology and team. It will empower Air Astana to increase training capacity across its rapidly expanding fleet of A320 family aircraft.”

To support the new FFS, L3Harris will provide 24/7 aftermarket support for spares, repairs, and future updates. This comprehensive support will ensure the device performs optimally throughout its operational lifespan.
