Irish Flight Training Organization Reduces Carbon Emissions by Converting Part of Fleet to Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Cork, Ireland-based Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA) is in the process of converting part of its fleet to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This enables AFTA to reduce its carbon emissions during pilot training.

We’re grateful for the support of Enterprise Ireland, Seán Kelly MEP, and many others on this initiative as we continue to work on converting the entire fleet,” said Jenna Eustace, Business Development at AFTA.

In November 2023, AFTA announced the commencement of its transition to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). SAF is an innovative plant-based fuel and can reduce carbon emissions by more than 90%. Through the acquisition of new next generation training aircraft AFTA will ensure an increasing number of its fleet can use SAF.
