Global – CAE has announced the appointment of Alexandre Prévost as President of Civil Aviation, consolidating its Commercial and Business Aviation Training divisions into a single, integrated global organization. The strategic restructuring is aimed at enhancing customer experience, improving operational efficiency, and accelerating CAE’s ongoing transformation across its civil aviation training network.

  • The decision unifies CAE’s commercial airline and business aviation training operations under one leadership structure to optimize resource utilization, standardize global processes, and strengthen alignment with customer requirements.

  • Alexandre Prévost, a 17-year CAE veteran, previously served as Division President, Business Aviation Training, and has also led Commercial Aviation Training for the Asia-Pacific region.

Portugal – OMNI Aviation Training Center (OATC) has announced the adoption of Aeroplanned, a specialized pilot training organisation resource forecasting platform. The initiative forms part of OATC’s broader modernization strategy, reinforcing its commitment to digital transformation, operational efficiency, and excellence in pilot training.

  • Implementation of Aeroplanned will begin on 1 December 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, with full operational use planned for January 2026.

  • The timeline-based platform centralizes the planning of aircraft, simulators, instructors, and students, ensuring enhanced coordination and minimizing scheduling conflicts across departments.

  • Aeroplanned will integrate directly with OATC’s FlightLogger system, maintaining alignment between operational plans and student training records, while improving overall workflow and communication.

  • The platform will also synchronize course schedules with APS MCC (Airline Pilot Standard Multi-Crew Cooperation) start dates for OATC’s new Airbus A320 simulator, ensuring seamless progression from flight phases to advanced multi-crew training.

  • This investment complements OATC’s recent acquisition of eight new Elixir aircraft, part of its ongoing fleet renewal program to enhance training efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Hungary — Simnest Pilot Academy has announced the upcoming addition of its first Boeing 737 MAX simulator, expanding its advanced training capabilities beyond its existing Airbus A320 simulator fleet. The new B737 MAX simulator, developed and manufactured by Simnest Aviation, will join the academy’s four A320 devices, allowing cadets and type-rated pilots to select their preferred aircraft platform for training and assessment.

Earlier this year Simnest Pilot Academy had reported a major milestone: by September 2025, its four A320 FNPT II MCC simulators have logged over 30,000 operating hours across 7,113 training sessions.

  • Of those sessions, 1,998 were MCC (Multi‑Crew Cooperation) and 3,787 were APS MCC (Airline Pilot Standard MCC).

  • 1,440 APS MCC sessions were delivered specifically to Wizz Air cadets.

  • The academy achieves all training using simulators alone—no live single‑ or multi‑engine aircraft are used—underscoring its full‑simulation model.

  • Simnest’s simulator fleet includes APS‑ready FNPT II MCC devices tuned for A320 operations.
