Major African Airline-Owned Aviation Training Organisation Announces New Pilot Training Head in 2026

Ethiopia – Ethiopian Airlines has announced the appointment of Abriham Akele as the new Head of its Pilot Training School at Ethiopian Aviation University. Akele assumes leadership of one of Africa’s largest and most complex multi-base pilot training operations, delivering MPL and CPL programmes to support the airline’s future manpower needs.

  • Akele was formerly Chief Flight Instructor and now assumes strategic leadership responsibilities for pilot training across multiple bases.
  • Key areas of responsibility include:
    • Leadership of flight training operations and instructional standards
    • Development and standardisation of flight and ground instructors
