Intercontinental Aviation Academy to Welcome Diamond Aircraft for Next-Generation Fleet

Austria – Intercontinental Aviation Academy (IAA), the training arm of Intercontinental Aviation Enterprise (IAE), has taken a bold step toward elevating its global training standards by finalizing a draft order for a fleet of brand-new Diamond Aircraft models. This landmark agreement marks the beginning of a strategic transition to next-generation aircraft that will power IAA’s training operations starting in 2026.

The IAA delegation was led by CEO Capt. Wissam Mehyou, accompanied by Deputy CEO for Business Development and Executive Board Member Mr. Frederico Fernandes, and Board Investment & Fund Advisor Mr. Duarte Costa. The team visited Diamond Aircraft’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and airport in Austria, where they were received by Diamond Aircraft CEO Mr. Frank Zhang , and Sales representative Mr. Anton Chirkovski.

In a highly productive meeting, both organizations explored the future of their collaboration and growth opportunities. An initial agreement was reached for the introduction of Diamond’s new-generation training aircraft into the IAA fleet. Full details regarding the number of aircraft and the terms of the deal will be disclosed at a later stage.

As part of the visit, the IAA executive team participated in a live demonstration and test flight. The CEO and team personally piloted the aircraft to gain firsthand insight into its performance and features—mirroring the exact training experience that future IAA students will benefit from.

The introduction of Diamond’s cutting-edge training aircraft aligns with IAA’s commitment to delivering world-class aviation education through advanced infrastructure, a modern training fleet, and a student-centered approach.

Resilient Pilot Achieves Approved Training Organisation (ATO) Status

United Kingdom – Resilient Pilot, the fast-growing aviation training and development platform, has achieved Approved Training Organisation (ATO) status from the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority.

Founded in 2020, Resilient Pilot supports over 10,000 pilots worldwide and works with airlines such as British Airways, Pegasus, and Virgin Atlantic to deliver competency-based training solutions. Resilient Pilot’s aim is to turn industry regulation into pilot resilience and performance, supporting the aviation sector as it embeds ICAO/IATA best practice for CBTA/EBT over the coming years.

Achieving ATO status enables Resilient Pilot to deliver the ATPL via distance learning and makes it the first organisation in the UK to integrate real-time virtual scenario-based training into KSA100 formative and summative assessments. This approach reinforces theory early in training and supports continuous pilot competency development, rather than waiting until the final APS MCC module.

Commenting on becoming an ATO, Founder and CEO of Resilient Pilot, Stuart Beech, said: “Achieving ATO status is a huge milestone for Resilient Pilot. Over the past five years we have gone from being a Covid start-up to spearheading the CBTA/EBT revolution in aviation, through our advanced training, development, and assessment solutions.

Becoming an ATO is not only recognition that Resilient Pilot meets the regulatory standards required to train aviation personnel, it also reflects our commitment to helping the UK General Aviation sector go beyond the regulations and empower pilots to take control of their continuous development.

“The shift to CBTA/EBT is a big change for the aviation sector, but one that brings significant opportunities in tailored professional development and standardisation. Our approach has been designed by IEs and pilots, and is proven to both improve training effectiveness and reduce training costs for airlines – a win win for the aviation sector. Becoming an ATO is another key step in our mission to turn regulation into pilot resilience and performance.

Netherlands-based Flight Training Organization Plans Major Training Upgrade with New Simulation Device Acquisition

Eindhoven, Netherlands – Eindhovense Aero Club Motorvliegen (EAC-m) is actively exploring the acquisition of a flight simulator to enhance its flight training capabilities—particularly for instrument rating (IR) and emergency procedure training. The club aims to conduct approximately 75% of instrument flying instruction in the simulator, significantly increasing training flexibility and accessibility.

This initiative supports multiple strategic goals: improving training efficiency, facilitating safe emergency procedure exercises, and reducing emissions and noise pollution associated with traditional flight training. To evaluate simulator options, EAC-m recently gained insights into simulator manufacturing at ELITE Simulation Solutions AG and experienced hands-on trials closer to home with Bluetail Aviation BV in Teuge.
