Entrol is proud to announce the new line of Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Level B certified products. Since the company was founded in 2005, Entrol has had one goal: to achieve excellence in flight simulators. Ever since, Entrol has been upgrading every product in the industry, developing a singular technology independence, growing together with their customers, and making their objectives also Entrol’s own.

“When we managed to certify our first FNPT, we knew we could level up by certifying our first FNPT II, and then the MCC came. We have managed to offer our customers the FTD certification, achieving the FTD Level 3 certification for helicopter simulators. But we needed more for us. We arrived in the USA with our first AATD, which gave us a better insight into the needs of the American market and made us discover new challenges and new offices,” said Entrol. “Today, we proudly want to announce that we have completed all the preparations to take the next step.”

Starting January 2024, Entrol will begin to offer their customers the certification FFS Level B, one step closer to its objective that began 18 years ago and today allows the company to fly even higher and further.

Flight Simulation Solutions Provider, Loft Dynamics, Unveils Airbus H125 with Garmin Glass Cockpit VR Flight Training Device

Loft Dynamics, a provider of virtual reality (VR) flight simulation training devices (FSTD) for pilots worldwide, announced that it will debut its Garmin glass cockpit VR flight training device at European Rotors 2023.

Visitors have the opportunity to test-fly the glass cockpit Airbus H125 for the first time in a realistic simulator.

“As glass cockpits gain prominence and popularity, it’s important to adapt and continue providing pilots with a highly realistic, practical, and invaluable flight training experience,” explained Fabi Riesen, founder and CEO of Loft Dynamics.

“Our VR glass cockpit precisely replicates the Airbus H125 cockpit, enhancing situational awareness in a way never before possible. It blurs the lines between in-flight helicopter training and simulator-based training to the point where it’s almost impossible to tell them apart.”

A lifelike training device

Loft Dynamics’ latest VR flight training device shares the features of its Airbus H125 predecessor and now includes a glass cockpit with Garmin’s avionics suite.

A full replica cockpit enables users to operate Garmin avionics, including the GTN 650 GPS and G500H TXi primary flight display with haptic feedback, utilizing the touch screens and knobs.

Additionally, the integrated virtual tablet, used for checklist reading and navigation chart usage, has been enhanced with the original ForeFlight app to display the aircraft’s current position and flight track.

This improvement ensures safer, easier, and more efficient simulation flights. All these features take advantage of Loft Dynamics’ VR technology, providing a 360-degree 3D view to precisely control the helicopter close to the ground.

The highly dynamic six-degrees-of-freedom motion platform allows pilots to feel the movements of the helicopter and the realistic ground contact of the skids. This training solution has a compact design that is 10 times smaller than traditional full-motion simulators.

Versatile training capabilities

The company’s glass cockpit VR training device can be utilized to conduct complete skill tests and proficiency checks, executing operator proficiency checks, receive training credits for type ratings, including normal and abnormal procedures, train flying at night, and in addition execute instrument flight training towards, the instrument rating.

The simulator, equipped with the new glass cockpit, can already be ordered and is expected to receive its EASA qualification in 2024.

Realistic HESLO training solution

The add-on module to the Airbus H125 training device equips aspiring pilots with essential skills to execute external sling load operation skills in a turbine helicopter safely and cost efficient.

It includes various scenarios with different window and mirror options, rope lengths, and load configurations. This enables to practice sling load operation using mirror and vertical reference technique. The simulator offers cost-effective training, preparing pilots to efficiently handle complex real-world missions.

Looking ahead

Loft Dynamics achieved significant milestones in the past year, including partnerships with the FAA and expansion in North America. Now, the company is gearing up for an even more impactful year ahead.

The roadmap includes advancing regulatory approvals with the additional aviation authorities. International demo centers, starting with California as the most immediate market are opened to allow pilots to experience the realism of the simulator firsthand.

The Airbus H145 VR simulator will enable pilots to perform among other trainings, proficiency checks and receive credits, in various pilot operation. Furthermore, the technology can be adapted to simulate any rotary- or fixed-wing aircraft and eVTOLs.

Melchior Kaag, head of training and flight operation services at Airbus Helicopters, commends the latest developments: “We always strive to improve the training solutions that we offer to our customers, taking their feedback into account for continuous improvement purposes. Pilot and aircrew proficiency is directly linked to safety. Actively contributing to Loft Dynamics’ latest upgrade of the H125 VR simulator which integrates the Garmin cockpit as well as the development of an H145 VR simulator is fully in line with this objective and will allow Airbus Helicopters to support even more operators.”
